F. H. Brandt. Cleveland, Ohio. Aug. 19, '07. NORTON & RUSSELL In an Artistic Quick-Change Originality. Man and woman who do a quick change act making about seven or eight complete changes of costumes. The act opens very tame and got hardly any applause until their close in one, where they do the bowery tough and the Italian and the Monkey. This pulled them through to fairly good applause. Open in one, two minutes, special drop, then to full stage, special set. 8 minutes close in One, 3 Min. FREDERICK BROS. & BURNS. Presenting "Comedy and Music." This act was booked from St. Louis and as they close on Sunday night there, it is impossible to get to Cleveland before 3 o'clock, so I had to put them on next to closing the show. They certainly made good in this spot and I assure you it a very good musical act. Center door fancy, 18 minutes close in one, 7 Min. DIXEY SERENADERS. Offering "Giddy Glimpses of the Sunny South." This is a very good coon singing act. There are four men and two women and all have very good voices, and fairly good dancers. Open full stage, set cottage, 8 minutes. They close their act in one in a complete change of costume doing a minstrel first part, which went very well. Received hearty applause at finish. 12 minutes in one. HASLAM. "The Disrobing Marvel." This man is really a wonder in getting out of straight jackets. The first one he takes off after being tied into a bag the second, he takes off in full view of the audience after being placed in a cabinet about large enough for him to move around in. He does not do any stalling, after he has once been in these, but immediately sets to work taking them off, which takes him about two to three minutes. In his second trick he is placed with his full dress suit on, into a large tube, just about big enough to hold his body and about forteen feet long. While in this tube he disrobes himself and comes out the other end in tights, it is really wonderful how he does this. His last trick he removes a straight jacket while under water. Every one of his tricks receive hearty applause. He has quite a number of things that he does which gives him a chance to vary his performance, and keep the newspapers interested. 20 minutes, full stage. A very good act. CHAS. LEONARD FLETCHER. Presenting a Series of Artistic Character Studies and Realistic Impersonations. Mr. Fletcher gave a series of artistime character studies of such people as Mark Twain, Wm. [Cuielett?] and several characters from Dickens works. To my mind this one of the most artistic acts of its kind we have ever played, and every character Mr. Fletcher did received large applause. I do not think any one can make a mistake booking this act. Mr. Fletcher makes up for all his characters in full view of the audience. Opens up in one for minutes. Center door fancy, 20 minutes, close in one 7 Min. HARRY LADELL & ROSA CROUCH. Singing and dancing. If this act was done in one consisting of singing and dancing alone, it would be a very good act, but as it is now, they kill about seven minutes in the opening of their act with a lot of bum jokes. Their singing and dancing at finish scored very big. Center door fancy, 12 Min. Close in one 4 Min. THE SINGING FOUR. Male Quartette. This act is very similar to That Quartette and The Quartette but is not as good as either one of them. On several occasions this afternoon they were very flat., and the act needs toning down as they are too noisy. Nevertheless it is a good act, and should improve. 10 Min. DUFFIN)REDCAY TROUUPE. This act is very similar to the Casting Dunbars and went very big this afternoon. Four men Full stage. 8 Min. A very good act.
