TEMPLE THEATER, DETROIT, MICH. Aug. 26, 1907. J. H. Finn. 3 LaMaze Brothers. Comedy acrobatic act after the general style of Rice & Prevost. Very good for the top position. 9 min. FS. Ethel MacDonough. The original drummer girl with the Fadettes. Sings a little to start with, and plays various instruments commonly associated with the drummer of an orchestra. Has a fine presence and wardrobe, and fits snugly in this position. Good act. 10 min. in 2, with plush. Johnson & Wells. First appearance since their return from Europe. Have a good selection of songs, and went very strong. 12 min. in one. Chas. H Bradshaw & Co. Giving us for the third time the comedy "Fix in a Fix," which went better than I expected. There has been no change whatever in the act since originally presented here. 23 min. FS. Lang's Gotham Four. This is an act along the general run of comedy quartets. It is not as good as the best, and it is better than the poorest. But it made a hit with our summer audience. 17 min. in 2. Can close in one 5 min. Valadon. Formerly associated with Kellar, and making his second appearance here. Has an excellent act, and his feature "The Mysterious Cross" was not only mystifying, but will cause some talk. 23 min. FS. Warren & Blanchard. This western team, one in blackface, was the laughing hit of the show. Warren is a natural comedian, and their material was practically new. Very good act for any spot. 16 min. in one. Macarte's Monkeys. This act has improved a whole lot since last presented here, and it went a long way in making the show as a whole a huge success. 15 min. FS. Kinetograph. The subject "Hunting the Stag" is one of the best pictures of animal life we have ever had. COMMENT- For a medium-priced bill this is one of the best we have had this season, and it appeared to be appreciated from barrier to wire.
