238 UNION SQUARE CRITICISM----WEEK OF SEPT. 8th, 1907. ZARRELL BROS. This act is very much on the order of the Bellclaire Brothers. They do some very clever work, and for a three a day and the salary it is a very good act. No one will make a mistake in booking them. Went well. 10 minutes, full stage. Three shows. VILLIERS & LEE Two very clever girls. Both good dancers and good acrobats. A good little three a day act. Went well. 10 minutes in one. Three shows. CONLIN & STEELE A fair act. Woman is a fair dancer and singer. Man is very clever at the piano. Went fair. 16 minutes, full stage. Three shows. SPERRY & RAY A very fair act. Both clever people. All right about second or third on the bill. The girl has a fair voice, and the man is not a bad comedian. 20 minutes, full stage. Three shows. DOROTHY KENTON. Banjo Player. This girl is very clever, and always makes good. Went very well. 9 minutes in one. Two shows. DONALD AND CARSON. In "Alex McLean's Dream." A very good act. Both very clever people. The man has a very good voice, also the woman. It is a good comedy act. Went very well. 18 minutes, full stage and close three minutes in one. Two shows. CARBREY BROS. These boys do a very good act. Both good dancers, and fair singers and for a three a day consider it a good act. Went very well. 10 minutes in one. Three shows. MR. & MRS. MARK MURPHY. In "The Coal Strike." A very good act and always makes good in this house. Went very well. 25 minutes, full stage and close five minutes in one. CONTINUED. WATERBURY BROS. & TENNEY. "Harmony Island." This act is very well known here. The comedy in the act is very good, and they are all very good musicians. Went very well. 24 minutes, full stage and close four minutes in one. URBANI & SON. Acrobatic Equilibrists. Second week making the same hit. A very good act, and is sure to make a hit. 10 minutes, full stage. BOBBY NORTH. Hebrew Comedian. Went very well. He has some new material and a few new songs. Went very big. 18 minutes in one. GERTRUDE HOFFMAN Received a big reception on her appearance. All her imitations went big, and consider her the cleverest woman of her kind in the business, and any one who thinks that she won't do business for them is crazy. All she wants is a little billing to create talk and they will come. A decided hit. 18 minutes, full stage and close about two minutes in one. KITABANZAI TROUPE OF JAPS. A great act. Fine to close the show. Went big. 14 minutes, full stage. KINETOGRAPH. Mr. Inquisitive. Good comedy film. The Starving Artist. Good. Reed Albee
