250 GRAND OPERA HOUSE Sept. 9th, 1907. THE PELOTS-Comedy jugglers- 3 shows, 14 min. Does very well for a good place among the three a days. ED GRAY- Monologue. Olio, 12 min. 3 shows. An unusually good monologue for the three a day section. ROYAL MUSICAL FIVE- 19 min. Interior. This act is known to all of the circuit. All I can say is that the act was a bigger hit than on its first engagement here. BURR W. MCINTOSH- 32 min. in one, illustrated talk on travels in the Phillippines and Japan. The talk and illustrations were very interesting and I feel sure that Mr. McIntosh drew us money and a class of people who do not, as a rule, attend the theatre. I think he would prove a very good attraction on any bill. CAMERON & FLANAGAN- 16 min., opening in one about 4 min., closing full stage, kitchen, in their act- "Off and On". This is their second appearance here and they went very big, taking two and three curtains at the close of every performance. ROBINSON CRUSOE'S ISLE"- 30 min. special set. Handsome scenery, beautiful costumes, and good voices with the exception of Fannie Frankel whom I think is very, very bad. However, I understand they are going to make a change. The comedy in the act is not good, but taking the act as a whole, you can figure that it makes good, and the fact that it is a big number creates some talk. LEW BLOOM- 12 min. Street in one. Doing about the same as formerly. To say that Mr. Bloom is a hit is putting it mildly. Went as big with us as any act we have played in one in a long while. JULIUS STEGER & CO.- "The Fifth Commandment" 25 min. Interior. A very good sketch, very good support. I do not think there is any question but what this is one of the best acts we play. I do not think there is an actor in the business who tries harder to please than Mr. Steger. OTTO BROS- Dutch comedians. 11 min. Street in one. This goes very well, especially the burlesque imitations, being always sure of a call at the finish. HASLAM- "The Disrobing Marvel". 15 min. full stage. Haslan has a very peculiar act and one that does not cause much of a sensation. The disrobing of Haslan going through a tube about 18 in. wide and about 15 ft. long is something of a novelty but I would not consider it a wonderful feat. They also put a straight jacket on him, tying him in a bag from which he gets loose. However, they get very little out of this. He is also put in a straight jacket and gets out of same while in a tank of water in view of the audience. I feel sure that I would not care to play him a return. DORA RONCA- 10 min. Olio. 3 shows, Violiniste. A very good act for the three show section. YAMAMOTO BROS. 11 min. Opening full stage, closing in one in Japanese perch pole and wire act. This act is well known to everyone on the circuit. It went very big with us. JOHN P. HARRIS.
