popular artists. Big advanced hand and strong applause throughout. Introduced some new songs, all of which went very well. Judging from the enthusiasm of today, think that she will be a bigger card this week than last. ARNOLDO'S LEOPARDS. 14 min. F.S. This is a good act, as is well known. Arnoldo is a very fine appearing chap, and he has his animals under perfect control without too much evidence of the whip. Very skillful and picturesque work. Good applause throughout and closed well. KINETOGRAPH. THE PUSH CART RACE. A very funny series that got them all laughing. MAPLE SUGAR MAKING. Quite interesting travel film. OLD COLLEGE CHUMS. Comedy, but only strong enough for the supper show. TOY FOON. Chinese Novelty. 17 min. F.S. Understand that this act is giving us a tryout engagement this week and that it is a two-a-day, valued at $500.00. Whereas there is a good deal of skill and ingenuity shown in the electrical effects, there is nothing to recommend its boast of "novelty." Everything has been done before and very much better. Opens with a lantern scene discovered through a gauze upon which is projected from a steropticon various weird phantasmagoria. The latter are a laugh, the moving sliders are so badly painted. The only merit in the act lies in the woman's costuming, which is very rich, and some variations of lighting effects which seem to hold the attention of the younger element. The woman cannot dance, and compared with acts we have had of the Loie Fullter order, is distinctly out-classed. Not to be recommended in its present undeveloped condition. PHIL HERMAN Ecc. Com. A good vocalist, holding a three-a-day spot acceptably. Sang three songs in dialect with changes of costume. Good applause. 17 min. in one. CHRISTY & WILLIS. Jug. and Danc. This is a very good act and worthy of encouragement. Man and woman, the woman opening the act with a good toe dancing turn, the man following with some tramp juggling that is skillful, although the feats are not by any means new, with some considerable original comedy. Got the best hand of any of the acts during our supper show. GENERAL REMARKS. This is a good holiday bill with the exception of the Thompson act, which is not of the jollification brand, and should have been deferred to another week, as the crowd during this week is not composed of our regulars. The bill will draw money all the same. It gave entire satisfaction this afternoon.
