GRAND OPERA HOUSE, PITTSBURG, PA., Jan 4th, 09. PAGANINNI'S GHOST- Special set in three with gauze drop in one. 13 minutes. In its present condition the scenery is useless. The act, however, goes very well, indeed. The man's violin playing being about the best we have had. Properly dressed and the act presented in one, I think he would be good enough for any place on any bill. MCNISH & PENFOLD- Singing and talking. 17 minutes in one. Doing very well and salary considered, a very desirable act. THE FINNEYS- Tank act. Full stage. 8 minutes. Prefer this to the othet Finney act. The appearance of the girls is striking and their work gets plenty of applause. A decided hit and one that is talked about. STANLEY & RUSSELL- 14 minutes in one. Singing, dancing, imitations. A most decided hit-Stanley's imitations scoring immensely. A very good act. LEO DITRICHSTEIN & CO.- 15 minutes, interior. Farce comedy sketch "Button, Button, Who's Got the Button". While the act gets many laughs, it is not sufficiently pretentious for a headline offering. In my opinion it is overpaid. CARON & FARNUM- 10 minutes in one. Well known acrobatic act. Favoring us this week by working entirely in one. The acrobatics are good and their is much comedy to the act, filling this place very well indeed. CLARICE [DAYNE?]- 24 minutes, full stage. A decided hit. In point of applause, compares with both the Lloyds. The comedy of Mr. Tate at the piano is very good. Think Miss [Dayne?] has scored sufficiently on this visit to occupy a headline position on her next engagement. MCNAUGHTON BROTHERS- 19 minutes. Well known comedy act, opening in one, closing in three. Doing about the same thing as formerly and going better than ever before. THE [BONESETTES?]- 8 minutes, full stage. Acrobatic. A good act. John [F.?] Harris.
