KEITH'S HIPPODROME. Cleveland, Ohio. Ned S Hastings. Jan,11th,1909. GUS ONLAW TRIO. 2 men, 1 woman. In 4. Time 12. Fair wire walking act. The novelty is given by the two men standing on pedestals, holding the wire in their teeth, while the woman walks on it. Good opener. JENNINGS & RENFREW. 2 men Black face. Parody singers. Going very strong. Time, 13. PAKA'S HAWAIIAN TRIO. 2 men, 1 woman. In 2 special tropical set. Good voices and excellent, although weird, guitar playing. The woman does the famous Hula Hula dance which made a big hit. This dance is in no way objectionable or Salomesque, but highly artistic. Very "atmospheric" act and a decided novelty. Time, 18. VALERIE BERGERE & CO. C.D.F. Time 50, "Billie's First Love". Using 8 women, 1 man. Bright lines and situations. Big hit. This is Miss Bergere's second week. She is very popular here. INTERMISSION. Did not show up. ELLIS [NOWLIN?] TROUPE. Recalled to take "Niblo's Birds'" Place. See last week's criticism. IRENE FRANKLIN. And Burt [Grant?] at piano. In 1. Time 22.Mins Franklin's material is chiefly new since her last visit. Her "Red Head" song is a knockout. She scored very heavily. The act is causing talk all over the city. KARNO'S PANTOMIME CO-"A NIGHT IN AN ENGLISH MUSIC HALL." F.S.Special theatre box effects. Time 21. 12 men and 5 women on program (some may "double." This well known act is making a hit here and is an excellent closing number. At times the comedy is very clever, at other times it is very slap stick, but always clean.
