KEITH'S HIPPODROME. Cleveland, Ohio. Ned S. Hastings Feb, 1st, 1909. RAFAYETTES DOGS. F.S., woods. Time, 11. Eight or ten fox terriers, bull dogs and poodles. A very excellent act, capable of holding down much harder spot. The dogs work quickly, and they have some unique tricks. Good applause. JOSEPH ADELMANN (QUARTETTE) In special set in 3 open, close in 1. 3 women, 1 man. A quaint picture of Nuremberg toy quarters in which the quartette in odd crinoline costumes play on toy instruments, simulating dolls to a degree. Close with very good xylophone solos. Novelty. Fair applause. Time, 19. W.C. FIELDS. F.S., Time 18. A wonderful eccentric juggler and clever comedian. Some new material. Big favorite here. Act excellent throughout. THREE SISTERS TRAPNELL. 3 young women, 1 boy. Time 11. A pretty and graceful acrobatic and tumbling act. Fair strength, fair applause. JOSEPH F. SHEEHAN. In 1. Time, 11. Operatic repertory. First calibre tenor voice. Great favorite here. Big individual hit of bill. VALERIE BERGERE & CO. Time 24. Double set dressingroom and hallway in F.S. "The Lion Tamer", first time on any stage. In addition to her regular company of 3 women and 3 men, Miss Bergere is using 5 extras here this week. The act tells an interesting story of the love of "Zaida, Queen of the Lions" (Bergere) for the Lion Tamer. The atmosphere is highly of the theatre back stage, yet the lines are easily understood by those who know nothing about the theatre. Most of the situations are unique, and in true melodramatic style, change swiftly from tragic to roaring comedy. In my judgment, this will prove a big success for Miss Bergere. Four newspaper critics said this afternoon that it gives promise of being Miss Bergere's best playlette. Comedy crisp and excellent. SIX AMERICAN DANCERS. In 1. Time 16. As good as the Four Fords, if not better. Certainly an excellent combination. A great big hit. OUR BOYS IN BLUE. F.S. special back drop. 17 men. Excellently drilled stage soldiers, who give the regular drill code with precision and snap. A spectacular "Night Attact", following an exciting wall scaling contest, gives a noisey and exciting finish, with plenty of gun powder in the air. An ideal closing feature.
