REPORT on PROVIDENCE SHOW, WEEK OF FEBRUARY 15, 1909. Chas. Lovenberg, Mgr. If the show held up in the two-a-day section as well as it does in the three-a-day section, it would a corker. Some of the best acts on the bill are doing three shows, and at least three of the two-a-day acts are decided fall downs. Dubois Magician. Very good act for the money. 15 Min. F.S. 3 shows Sam Stern Italian and Jew character songs. Made quite a hit. An act which could hold a more important spot with ease. 15 Min. in One, 3 shows. Nadje Lady contortionist and hand stair walker. A very attractive act that would be most desirable for an opener anywhere. Engaged for three shows, but time not required, and worthy of a better spot on the bill. 9 Min. F. S. Little Sunshine This young woman suffers from very severe hoarseness and it wouldn't be fair to send in a report on her act from today's performance. She is very dainty and pretty and has a charming personality. I am inclined to believe she has a good act. 12 Min. in One, 2 shows. Rice & Cady A decided frost. Really belong in Sam Stern's place 15 Min. of sorrow, in One. 2 shows. Charlotte Townsend & Co. In "The Troubles of Two Working Girls". A good sketch poorly played. Failed to give satisfaction. 21 Min. in Three. 2 shows. Jones & Mayo Two men in impersonations of celebrities, introduced in a somewhat unusual manner. Good act in the early two-a-day section. 20 Min. in Two, can work in One. 2 shows Rastus Brown Corking good coon eccentric dancer. One of the hits of the show. 17 Min. in One, 3 shows. Herr Grais' Baboons Well-known act which scored as usual. 12 Min. F. S. 2 shows. El Cota The best Xylophonist I ever heard, but the fact remains that the people no longer want Xylophonists, consequently he did only fairly well as to applause. 15 Min. in One, 2 shows. Murphy & Nichols In "A School of Acting". Rather to my surprise this act scored a tremendous hit from start to finish. As salaries go, I think it is worth what I am paying it, but I cannot see it for KRR. 27 Min, F. S. 2 shows. Stuart Barnes Mr. Barnes started off a little bit weak and quite a number of the audience walked away on him, but he pulled up strong about half way through his act and finished big. 18 Min. in One, 2 shows. Bobby Pandur & Brother The act is presented in a very effective manner, but the work performed by the two men is by no means unusual. I should call it a fairly good act. 17 Min. F.S., 2 shows. Motion Pictures. O.K.
