KEITH'S-HIPPODROME. March 8th, 1909. Cleveland, Ohio. Ned S. Hastings. QUIGG & NICKERSON. 2 men, one b.f., one straight. Comedy instrumentalists. Play on cornets, French horns & trombones. Comedy good. Lively opener. C.D.F. close in 1. Time, 14. MARION GARSON. In 1. Time 9. Pleasing stage presence. Remarkable sweet voice. Went well. GRIFF. In 2. Boy assistant. Time 15. Very clever talking comedian, using a little juggling. Unique. Unquestioned hit. JULIUS TANNEN. In 1. Time 17. Monologist. Great material. Big Hit. SCOTT & WILSON. 2 men. (one rube comedy.) Very good acrobatics. Keep the audience laughing and applauding. "A DAY AT THE COUNTRY CLUB". Special F.S. interior. Octette, 4 men, 4 girls, George Spink, [Maym?] Kelso, and Ned Reardon. time 30. By far the best Lasky act since "The Pianophiends." The octette work is fast and neat, introducing several songs well done. Spink's pianologues make a hit. Costumes all fine and new. Pleased all over the house. VIOLET ALLEN & CO. "Keeping an Engagement". In 2 special. Time 20. 2 men, 1 woman. After a lot of dreary nonsense taking up most of the time, there is some very good dancing, redeeming partially the first part. The act savors of burlesque in manner of presentation, although it is clean. Lively, but mediocre. DARE DEVIL SCHREYER & CO. "Trailed To The Chasm". Local spectacle. The greatest success in the history of the show business. Read special story in N.Y. Telegraph, March, 9th, 1909.
