PITTSBURG, PA. GRAND OPERA HOUSE. AUGUST 16th, 09. A BA BEE-"Pictorial Post Card Album". 10 minutes full stage. Not a good act. Would be well paid at half the salary they are getting in some small house. FRED SOSMAN-"Singing Comedian". Olio in one, 10 minutes. This is Mr. Sosman's second appearance at our house. On his first appearance he was a big hit with the audience. This week they do not seem to want him. Personally I never did consider him good. MR. & MRS. EDWARD ESMONDE In their dramatic playlet-"The Soldier of Propville". 19 minutes. While this is not a great act, I consider it strong enough to get away about number three on any bill. ELEANOR FALKE-"Singing Comedienne". 10 minutes, olio in one. Miss Falke did not do as well for us during this engagement as she has in the past. However, I think this is owing to the fact that she has been laying off for some time and is not working as well as she can. [ROHEZ'S?] MONKEYS- "A Night in a Monkey Music Hall". Full stage, special, 15 minutes. A big hit and a laugh all the way through. I am sure the act drew us some money. THE GREAT LESTER- Ventriloquist. Olio in one. 19 minutes. This is surely a great act but would be much improved if it was cut to about fifteen minutes. GENARO & BAILEY-"The Flirtation Dance". Singing and dancing, with three changes of costumes. 21 minutes, full stage. This act went very well, especially the finish with their old cake walk number, which went big. FRANK MOREL-Black face singing monologue. 16 minutes in one. Mr. Morrell's singing a big hit; monologue only fair. REDFORD & WINCHESTER-Comedy Jugglers. Full stage, special drop. 14 min. This act did very well in a hard place-closing the show. John P. Harris.
