195 193 Bijou Theatre, Woonsocket. August 23, 1908 Matinee. Business, big. Weather, warm. Time 1---Overture 5 2---Pictures Comedy reel. 15 3---BELLE GORDON. Lady bag puncher. went well. Good act of the kind but is rather more on the museum style. Might do for small time houses. Time, 15 min. 4---JOHN RUCKER. Negro monologuist. Material rather funny but does not quite reach. Songs good. Went fair. Time 10 min. 6---"Black Beauty". Sketch founded upon the book and drama. In three scenes 3-1-3. Good settings and story well told mingling comedy and melodrama. Cast fair, suitable for small time but not strong enough for the big cities. Went big. Time 32 min. 6-- Pictures. Dramatic reel. Time 15 min. 7--FRED & BESSIE LUCIER. The act is the same as they have done for ten years but as this is the first time seen here it went big. a pleasing act at that, good for any bill. Time, 13 min. 8---JEROME & HUNTER. Man and woman in acrobatic act. Woman does grotesque comedy. man is good acrobat. The foundation of a good act when fully worked out. Good now for small time. Time 10 min. 9--Pictures. Comedy reel.
