Boston Show, Week of Sept. 20th, 1909. R. G. Larson (Monday, Sept 20th- Afternoon Show) Overture. 1.54, 10 minutes. McNish and Penfold. On at 2.06, 18 minutes. This old time act did their usual line of stuff, got by in fair shape, although it is pretty long drawn out. Have cut them to 14 minutes for to-night. Cadets Gascony. On at 2.24, 11 minutes in two. This is an excellent singing quartette and the first two numbers stirred things up a bit, but they fell just a little on the third. The Vivians. On at 2.35, 20 minutes full stage. This well known shooting act got applause all through, and finished big. Fred Ray's Players. On at 2.55, 13 minutes in one. It seemed almost increditable that the absence of Ray should make such a difference in this act. It failed to arouse the laughter that it formerly got with Ray in the cast. Peter. On at 3.08, 30 minutes full stage, second week, and as big a hit as ever. Oscar Loraine. On at 3.39, 17 minutes in two. Very good from the start and a big hand at the finish Cressy and Dayne. On at 3.50, 25 minutes full stage Playing "the Village Lawyer." The same old hit. Bowers, Walter and Crooker. On at 4.19, 13 minutes; 3 minutes in one; 8 minutes in full stage, close 2 minutes in one. A scream as usual. The Carnos. On at 4.32, 12 minutes full stage. A great juggling act, nicely dressed. Kinetograph. On at 4.44, 10 minutes. "The Manufacture of a Fountain Pen".--Fair. Cuts--Cressy and Dayne--"Grandmother's joke." Comment. The Fred Ray act was a big disappointing, but with changes made to-night and Peter further down on the bill, this promises to be a great show. The running order will be McNish and Penfold, The Vivians; Fred Ray, Oscar Loraine, Cress and Dayne, Cadets Gascony; Peter; Bowers, Walter & Crooker and the Carnos.
