Report on Columbus Show for week Sept. 20, 1909. W. W. Prosser. The Gartelle Bros. Comedy roller skating and dancing on same. -- Quite a good comedy act which went well all the way through. They won a lot of laughs and finished fairly strong. Not a riot but a satisfactory act. 9 minutes Kitchen in 2. Suzanne Rocamora: This young lady sings a number of songs and seemed to make a favorable impression. She went very well but was not a great big hit. -- Would term it a fairly good act. Finished fairly strong. 10 minutes olio in one. Maurice Freeman & Co: A sketch "Tony & The Stork" -- a successful blending of humor and pathos the leading character being an Italian. This is a good piece of character work and he made a decided personal success. -- His support is capable and the finish of the act was emphatically strong. A very good sketch. 17 minutes C. D. F. Otto Bros: German comedians who went pretty well and seemed to find favor with the greater part of the audience. Not a decided hit but got by very nicely. -- They were at a disadvantage this afternoon on account of losing their stage trunks some place but they arrived in time for the night show and they went better tonight. 15 minutes in one street. Top O' Th' World Dancers: Just about the same material as was used in the production last season. -- The act was favorably received and was quite a success tho nothing great big. Their costumes look as though a cleaning would not be amiss. -- I tried to get them to close in one this afternoon but they claimed they could do nothing and before the evening performance their manager called a rehearsal for the purpose of framing up some way to give me the time but things worked out so badly that I was afraid to take a chance on killing the act, and told them to do it as they did this afternoon. -- They are to get busy tomorrow morning and promised to have the finish in one O. K. in time for Tuesday mat. -- Special set in 4 20 minutes. Picture to set for: Wormwoods Monkey and Dogs: This act was a great laugh and it was a hit from beginning to end. Not a bit of fault could possibly be found. 22 minutes C. D. F. Avery & Hart: The same excellent colored act as of yore. They have a new line of talk and everything went fine. 20 minutes street in one. Ida Fuller: In her series of elaborate dances "The Butteflies", "The Spirit of The Storm" and "The Sorceress." An excellent act with most beautiful lighting effects and the work was all very successful. -- Finished only moderately strong 2. This afternoon but went big tonight. 13 minutes special set in 5. Moving Pictures: O. K.
