Bijou Theatre, Woonsocket, R. I. Monday, October 2, 1909. Matinee. Weather fair. Business fair. Overture. Time 4 minutes. Reel No. 1. Time. 18 minutes. Reel No. 2. Time 10 minutes. CROWN MUSICAL DUO. Went well. Two men in good musical act. Variety of instruments used all with good effect. Well costumed. A clean and straight act that will fit any bill. No effort to get comedy in the act, save for one man's costume. Time 13 min. McADAMS AND HIS TALKING DOG, "SPIKE." Went well. A nice act of the trained animal order and yet away from all others. Line of talk by the man is very good and the dog answers with intelligence by barking answers. Lot rf the stuff goes with a laugh. In one. Time 13 mins ANDREWS & ABBOTT CO. Went well. A fairly entertaining sketch for three people, one man a woman and a young miss. Sketch entitled "the Little Leading Lady" tells a story of the stage with a mingling of humor and pathos. Man rather bad but the ladies play well. Song by woman, one by the girl and several impersonations of melodramatic stage folk in familiar scenes by the girl go well. Sketch is somewhat talky in spots. C.D.F. in 3. Time 20 minutes. HARRY THORNTON. Went well. Pianologuist with a style all his own. Combines straight and comedy numbers with songs. Also does some imitations. A well constructed act. Can work anywhere that a piano can be used. Works here in two. Time 13 minutes. THE 3 HANLONS. Went big. Three men in a knockabout comedy acrobatic act that is excellent in all ways. Comedy man gets laughs galore for his rough work while the straight work is immense. Full Stage. Time 14 minutes. Reel No. 3. Time 16 minutes. George Albert Haley. Bijou Theatre, Woonsocket, R. I. Matinee, September 28, 1909. Business, fair. Weather, rain. OVERTURE. Time 3 minutes. REEL NO. 1. Time 15 minutes. REEL NO. 2. time 15 minutes. MABEL DeYOUNG. Went well. Singing pianologue. Well Dressed and good looker. Songs of the gingery order, but not offensive. Uses piano in two. Time 11 minutes KRESKO & FOX. WENT WELL. Man and woman in conversation and songs. Woman is a good talker and the way she rubs it in to the man wins many laughs. Songs good, that of "The Drummer" scoring big. Neat little dance well worked in. Well dressed. Work in one. Time 12 minutes. SANDOW & LAMBERT. Went well. Two men in strong man act that is all that its name implies. Work is done easy and gracefully. Posings in Black cabinet are attractive and muscular feats go big. Full stage. Time 12 minutes. RALPH SMALLEY. Went big. Cello soloist. Works straight. His solos won rounds of applause and ought to go big with any audience. Music is all classical but caught even the gallery here. In one. Time 14 minutes. HUMAN SINGING DOLLS. Went big. Four manikins with human heads in solos and concerted numbers in cabinet. Two ladies and two men. Man soloist in front sings descriptive numbers. Act is full of good work by all. Comedy is catchy and gets no end of laughs. Time 11 minutes. REEL NO. 3. Time 16 minutes. George Albert Haley.
