REPORT ON COLUMBUS SHOW FOR WEEK OCT. 11, 1909. W. W. PROSSER. LA VINE-[CIMERON?] TRIO: Two men and a woman in a very good acrobatic act, "Imagination". All of their work was well received and it made an excellent opening act. 12 minutes, Special in 3. FRED WATSON, "The Student": Sang 3 or 4 songs and did just a little talking. The act went fairly well but was not a decided success. He got by, however, and was fairly satisfactory. 16 minutes, street in 1. EVA FAY: (First Part) Occult Demonstrations Extraordinary. This part of Miss Fay's work was quietly but favorably received. There was no especial manifestation of approval but the audience seemed to be thoroughly interested and she gained the undivided attention throughout.this portion of her act. C. D. F. in 3, 16 minutes. THORA: European novelty ventriloquist. This man impersonates a woman, his dummy being a man or boy. He seemed to get the attention of the audience throughout and everything was so quiet through the act that it looked as though the act wasn't going very well, but most unexpectedly it finished very strong and he was compelled to take several bows at the conclusion. This being the case must give the act credit for scoring a success. 14 minutes, palace in 2. W. H. MURPHY, BLANCHE NICHOLS & CO.: In a comedy burlesque, "The School of Acting". There are 7 people in the act, 2 women and 5 men. It concerns the troubles of a proprietor of a School of Acting and as a laughing vehicle proved to be one of the most ridiculous things we have had in the house for many a day. The act went big from start to finish. There was a most liberal amount of applause and the finish was exceedingly strong, the participants being obliged to take several curtains. Would term this a bona fide, genuine hit of a most desirable and spontaneous order, and believe that the act should go big any place it might be presented. Couldn't possibly detect a fault with it. 26 minutes, wood in 5. NONETTE: "The Gypsy Violinist". This young lady made a very favorable impression and went about as strong as any one could wish for a single act. She plays the violin artistically, sings excellently and makes a very pretty appearance over the footlights. Her personality seems to be strong and she had no trouble in getting it over the lights.to the audience. She was compelled to respond several times and went as big as any one on the bill up to this point, or even during the entire show. 17 minutes, olio in 1. ORTH & FERN: A most capable team of young men who present an excellent laughing vehicle entitled "The Messenger Boy". Both the "straight" and the "character" are all that could be desired and the act was a pronounced and unqualified hit all the way through. They were most favorably received and their success was of a most positive order. C. D. F. in 3, 20 minutes. EVA FAY: (Second Part- Thaumaturgy). This part of Mrs. Fay's act proved to be of the most successful order and the audience gave her their undivided attention throughout this portion of her offering. She works very rapidly without losing any time and makes a most favorable impression from the front. It was apparant that she was making a distinct success of her work and nothing but favorable comments could be heard as the audience left the theatre. Personally, I believe she is a much better worker in her line than Anna Eva Fay, having seen the latter in this town many times in the past. 28 minutes, Special Set in 2. MOVING PICTURES: O. K.
