Boston Show Week October 11, '09. R. G. Larsen Afternoon show, Monday. Overture. On at 1:50, 8 minutes. Zeno Jordan & Zeno. On at 1:58, 11 minutes full stage. This team had been laying off and their work showed it this afternoon to some extent, but notwithstanding this fact they made a great opening act and sent the show off with a spurt. Carbrey Brothers. On at 2:09, 8 minutes in one. One of the best dancing acts we have and went big this afternoon. Three Keatons. On at 2:17, full stage with 8 minutes close in one, 24 minutes in all. This family was a riot here this afternoon and they introduced the three kids. We will not be able to use them during the rest of the week probably, although they may be brought on, but the rest of the family with their close in one are certainly a riot from the first to the last. Mlle Chester and Dog. On at 2:41, 9 minutes full stage. this is a beautiful posing act and was well received here this afternoon. Quigley Brothers. On at 2:50, 18 minutes in one, doing the same old stuff without a change of any kind. Got by in this spot but the finish was weak. Louise Dresser. On at 3:28, 20 minutes full stage. Miss Dresser is doing about the same act as she did in New York and made a splendid impression here to-day, everything she did being well received. Homer Lind & Company. On at 3:28 in "The Opera Singer". Lind has a very good idea in his present sketch and his comedian who takes the part of the stage hand is one of the best of his kind. It seems too bad that he does not have a little more to do. The act went big this afternoon so much so that Lind sang an encore number that rather spoiled the picture at the close of his act, and which will be omitted for the rest of the week. Ward & Curran. On at 3:57, 26 minutes in one, special drop. This act got a good hand all through to-day and lots of laughs but unfortunately Ward dragged in his old time bit with the stage hand at the finish and rather marred all that had gone before, especially when the audience had been waiting all the afternoon to see Kellermann. However, they handled the spot in good shape and with the time cut down for the rest of the week should do very much better. Annette Kellermann. On at 4:23, 7 minutes in full stage doing the same diving act and as big a hit as ever. Kinetograph. On at 4:30, 19 minutes of mighty good comedy picture called "Why Girls Leave Home." Cuts. Three Keatons: cut 'kick the shirt from him.' Home Lind: cut the lines, 'and you have not got any further than to be here playing for trained animals.' This is an unnecessary knock to the orchestra. Comment. This show whiped into pretty good shape, the fault mif any being a couple of long acts toward the end of the bill. However, it gave general satisfaction and held the audience to the finish.
