REPORT BALTIMORE SHOW = MARYLAND THEATRE. WEEK OCT. 18TH. NEWELL & NIBLO = 11 minutes in 1. Straight musical act. Man and woman. both nicely costumed. Very good performers on the Saxophone and xylophone. CHAS. B. LAWLOR & DAUGHTERS = 22 minutes, 5 of which is in 1. Carry their own set. Act consists of character songs, splendidly done, entitled "The Sidewalks of New York. All have good voices and the act can easily be called a hit. EMIL HOCH & CO. = 18 minutes full stage. The act tells a very pretty little story regarding a poor musician, who has an engagement to play but no dress suit, so he borrows his next door neighbors without asking. There is some good comedy in the sketch and just a touch of pathos. Act going fair. AL. CARLETON = 18 minutes in 1. This man is working in a straight clean cut make up, has great material and is one big hit. He is a find at the money and if he ever gets a chance at a New York audience watch the result. SICILIAN SINGERS = 8 minutes full stage. Last week in America, so what's the use?. BARRY & WOLFORD = 16 minutes in 1. New act, new material and parodies. It is going very big. MARIE COLLINS = 22 minutes in 1. Has a splendid repertoire of good catchy songs, all of which she sings with a strong voice. Very attractive gowns, and following so much singing, she is holding this spot very acceptably. FUTURITY WINNER = 18 minutes, full stage. Same act as before Race finish going just as big as before. Kinetograph = Pictures Taft at Chicago- New York Baseball game at Chicago. Very good. F.C. Schanberger, REPORT ON PROVIDENCE SHOW, WEEK OF OCTOBER 18, 1909. Chas. Lovenberg, Mgr. The bill this week is good, though by no means a great show, but is a decided improvement over those of the two preceding weeks. Paul Stevens One-legged equilibrist and wire walker. A very good act, good enough to open the show in any house in the world. 8 Min. F.S. Josephine Joy Miss Joy is an attractive young woman with a very good soprano voice, a good idea for an act, a good drop, and a rotten bunch of songs which kill all the good things she has. 14 Min. in One. Willard & Bond In a travesty called "The Battle of Bunco Hill" which is a very bad imitation of Gallagher & Barrett's "The Battle of Too Soon". 19 Min. F. S. Jones, Grants & Jones Two men and two women, colored comedians. A very good act with splendid comedy, singing and dancing. 25 Min. Open and close in One. Alpine Troubadours. This act was something of a disappointment and by no means compares with the splendid act of Renier's Tyroleans which we had last season, altho a couple of these people are from the Renier Troupe. Ths singing is not good and they spoil what good work they do by attempting to play a sketch in English. I cut the sketch part after the first performance. They have some very pretty scenery. The act can get by if not depended upon for too much. With the sketch part eliminated it will run about 18 Min. 23 Min. in all. F.S. The Heim Children Same big success as last season. 18 Min. in One. Porter J. White & Co. In "The Visitor". An excellent dramatic sketch which scored strongly with today's audiences. 25 Min. F.S. Nat M. Wills Almost an entirely new act. Scored his usual big hit. 25 Min. in One. Zeno, Jordan & Zeno Combination of trapeze and casting act, introducing some very good tricks. A good act that would be much better if they worked faster. 9 Min. F. S. Motion Pictures O.K.
