Boston show week October 25, 09. Monday afternoon show R. G. Lsarsen Overture. On at 1:45, 11 minutes. Fred Zobedie. On at 1:59, 9 minutes full stage. Some of Zobedie's stuff arrived late and it was a hustle to get it set, but he went on with a remarkably good act, getting applause from the start, and finishing big. One of the best opening acts we have had for some time. George Austin Moore. On at 2:08, 14 minutes in 1. Moore was at considerably of a disadvantage this afternoon on account o fhis early spot on the bill but nevertheless he got away with it in good shape but it is regretable that we are compelled to keep an act of this sort so early. Gordon Pickens Company. On at 2:22, 15 minutes full stage, a very good comedy sketch of the boisterous type, and all right for this place, although it does not begin to be the riot that might be imagined from some of the reports made on it. It does not hang together in places. Frey Twins. On at 2:37, 9 minutes full stage. This novelty went very big here this afternoon, in fact, should prove a good feature for the week. The men work quickly, the posing is good, and the wrestling finish is full of life and surprises, which catch the audience. The finish here this afternoon was very big. This act could be a feature of almost any bill. Opens with about a half minute in 1. Nelson & Otto. On at 2:46, 18 minutes in 2. These girls have improved their act wonderfully since they last appeared here and Miss Nelson has advanced so much that it can hardly be said that Miss Otto's piano playing is now the feature it formerly was. It is a very good act and hold the spot in first rate shape. Annette Kellermann in the Mirror Dance. On at 3:04, 3 minutes full stage. This dance was put on in response to numerous inquiries from those who saw her when she first appeared here and we did ot expect much of it, especially as miss Kellermann's feet were so sore yesterday that she could not do much rehearsing. This afternoon, however, she was in better shape and danced better than she ever did here while the mirror effects were really worth while. It made a much better number than we had expected. Hoey & Lee. On at 3:07, 16 minutes in 1. This team went big, their stuff is all new, and they get it over in good shape and made a very pronounced hit this afternoon. Van Biene. On at 3:24, 24 minutes full stage. Van Biene played a sketch and got away with it in fair shape, although it dragged a bit at the start, and detracted some from his cello playiing. However, the piece is worth while, and this evening we will reduce the running time of the sketch and give more time to his cello. Jack Wilson Trio. On at 3:48, 24 minutes in 1. Wilson was a riot as usual although his voice is a little off and he had not really warmed up to the opportunities the show affords him. Annette Kellermann. On at 4:12, 7 minutes full stage. As popular as ever in her fourth week, apparently. Kinetograph. On at 4:19, remarkably good pictures of Peary's arrival at Sidney. Cuts: Gordon Pickens Company, 'hell' and motherinlaw reference. Hoey & Lee, 'Lauder' and Jack Wilson "Lauder and 'what to heell.' Comment; This show ran in very good shape and was pleasing all the way through.
