73 Boston Show Week December 27 '09 [1909] (Monday afternoon show) R. G. [Larson? Larsen?] Overture. On at 1:45, 11 minutes. Liane de Lyle. On at 1:58, 9 minutes full stage. This is an exceptionally clever couple doing stunts with billiard balls. Made a great opening act this afternoon. 3 Du Ball Brothers. On at 2:05, 9 minutes in 1. A very lively singing and dancing team, nothing startlingly original nor classy, but a team was wakes things up and finishes good. Binns, Binns and Binns. On at 2:14, 17 minutes with close in 1. This well known act made good as usual and got laughs all through and a fairly good finish. Emil Hock and Company. In "The Tail of a Coat." On at 2:31 and, 16 minutes full stage. This is a fair comedy sketch. Hardly as good as his previous effort, but gets by in very good shape. Little Billy. On at 2:47, 13 minutes in 1. This little fellow has made quite a hit here in Boston and this afternoon on his second week made as big an impression as ever. Torelli's Dog and Pony Circus. On at 3:00, 21 minutes full stage. This is a very good animal act with six beautiful ponies, a couple of dogs and a trick mule. They got stalled in the storm last night and this morning, and did not get in until late, but for all that gave a very good performance and should do very much better to-night when in shape. Johnston and Harty. On at 3:21, 15 minutes in 1. A fairly good act which got some laughs and kept things moving without making any tremendous hit. Cuts. Betty in Dreamland - Joke about "What's in a name." Frank Fogarty - cut the story "Gates Ajar." Also word "God" at the end of the recitation. Comment. This proved to be a good holiday show and should run better to-night in the following order - Liane de Lyle; Du Ball Bros; Emil Hoch; Johnston and Harty; Binns Binns and Binns; Capitaine; Little Billy; Kathleen Clifford; Frank Fogarty; Torelli's Circus.
