104 REPORT ON PROVIDENCE SHOW, WEEK OF JANUARY 24th, 1910 Charles Lovenberg, Manager. The bill is a particularly good one and about as evenly balanced as any we have had this season. Every act makes good and the big attendance this afternoon and the advance sale for the week indicate that through our advertising efforts we have created an interest in Chevalier and I was agreeably surprised at the way he was accepted by the audience While there was no riot he received plenty of spontaneous applause and I have no doubt but that we will do a good week's business. WALLACE GALVIN Magician and card manipulator and a very good one. 13 Min. in One. LESTER & MANNING In "The Little Immigrant", which pleased in this spot but I don't think could be depended upon anything more important, at least in this house. Special Drop, 20 Min. in One. SULLY FAMILY In a lively farce called, "The Suit Case". While these people are not Sotherns or Marlowes, there is a lot of life and ginger to the act and in an unimportant spot, make good thoroughly, especially at the figure. The act finishes with some lively singing and dancing. 23 Min. F. S. Can close in One. CLIFFOrD & BURKE This was an exceptionally soft spot for these fellows and they simply "knocked them off the seats". 20 Min in One. CAMILLE OBER Freak Vocalist. This is a very good act, for about half the money that it is getting. Got considerable applause but not five hundred dollars' worth. 13 Min. in One. HARRY DE COE Equilibrist. Best in the world. Greatest value for the money we ever had. 12 Min. F. S. CHEVALIER Unquestionably a great artist and, while no doubt the great bulk of the audience probably do not appreciate him at his full value - especially at the salary received - I was pleased to note today that they are brainy enough to realize the greatness of the man's work. 30 Min. in 1 1/2. EXPOSITION FOUR Just a lively kind of an act to follow Chevalier and met with their usual success. 18 Min. Open F. S. Close in One. MAREENAS & NEVARRO Well-known acrobatic comedy act that held them exceptionally well. 8 Min. F. S. MOTION PICTURES O.K.
