Report of show playing at Keith's Theatre Providence week of February 25th, 1918. This show plays better than it would appear on paper, but it is the most difficult bill to lay out satisfactorly I have struck in many a day;- some of the acts just get by, others are very good. CHARLES LOVENBERG, Manager. DE WINTERS & ROSE: This act booked originally to close the show could not hold the spot; managed to get by here, but not better than opening. They have some very fine scenery, and the act was well dressed, but there isn't much to recommend in their work. 7 minutes F.S. SKELLY & SAUVAIN: These people also have a very handsome drop and the lady wears some very nice clothes, and while they have some very good material they don't land it very well. 16 minutes; in one and a half. BLANCHE SLOAN: Miss Sloan landed the first bit of real appreciation from the audience, She works fast, has some sensational stunts, while her talk ingratiates her with the audience. 6 minutes F.S. ALEX. MC FAYDEN: Pianist;- from a vaudeville standpoint this fellow is about the best of the concert pianists we have played. I never knew any act of that kind to make as big a hit as he did yesterday, at both performances. 19 minutes in one. SWAN & MACK: Blackface comedians. While these men secured many laughs;- mostly through jokes told here before by Swor & Avey, whose act they have about half;-I consider the act over-paid by at least $100. 13 minutes in one. KATHERINE DANA: In "Fantasia". This act is so well known it needs no description; suffice to say the audience enjoyed it greatly. 11 Mi. F.S. SANTOS & HAYES: These two women grostesques were the big riot of the show. 17 minutes in one. SUBMARINE F.-[?]. This is about the most thrilling act of its kind we have ever played. It is also very instructive. It held every person in the theatre in their seats until the artists had taken three curtain calls. I am sure it will draw some money. 22 minutes F.S. MOTION PICTURES: O.K.
