PHILADELPHIA B.F. KEITH'S JULY 22, 8 ROBERT DE MONT TRIO. 7 min. "At the Hotel Turn Over." Two men and a woman in a snappy bit of acrobatics presented in an interior setting. Work with plenty of speed and furnish a satisfactory opener. SHIRLEY SISTERS. 11 min. A singing and dancing turn that opens a little slow but picks up with the dancing. One girl offers a ballad and the other a comedy number. Finish with a duet that took them off to a good hand. REYNOLDS & WHITE. 12 min. This act is formed by Fred Renaldo and Ollie White, both of whom formerly appeared in different acts. They have a novelty opening, the man appearing in eccentric makeup. The girl is a clever violinist and the man gets a little fun out of his comedy. Finished to a good hand. [LA ZAR?] & DALE. "Joining the Union." 18 min. These blackface boys have a musical travesty, opening with some talk. One works in comedy makeup, the other straight. Got fair laughs with their talk but did much better with their musical numbers which are burlesqued. Finished to a fair hand. BOB MATTHEWS & CO. 24 min. "The Rounder of Old Broadway." A very good character playlet with some singing, company of five including Matthews as the principal. Some good comedy well handled gets over in good shape. Act is along previous offerings by Matthews and one of his best, scoring strongly. LAMBERT & BALL. 17 min. Received a warm welcome. Sang several numbers, three or four being familiar. Finished with a new war ballad that was a big hit. Miss Lambert made three changes of attractive gowns. "FOR PITY'S SAKE." 29 min. A big laughing hit despite handicap of a very warm day. Act same as before except Thomas Duray has replaced Charles Withers as principal comedian at short notice and gave a good performance, getting plenty of laughs. NAN HALPERIN. 24 min. As big a hit as ever. Repeated a couple of her best songs and introduced some new ones, all of which scored solidly. Unquestionably one of the best of single entertainers and was this time, as in the past, the applause hit of the show. JEAN DUVAL & CO. 9 min. "Gems of Art." A very pretty posing act, the majority of the subjects being done in white representing marble and well posed. Held attention in the closing position. GENERAL REMARKS. Show opened on one of the hottest days of the year which prevented it from getting its full value from the audience but it played thoroughly satisfactory, several big hits being registered. CUT BOB MATTHEWS & CO. Word "damn"
