PHILADELPHIA B.F. KEITH'S AUG.5, 8 PATHE. 13 min. Up to the usual average. FRED & MINITA BRAD. 7 min. Man and woman in a comedy acrobatic turn, the former working in comedy makeup. Made a fair opener. RIVES & ARNOLD. 14 min. Man and woman, singing and talking. Use crossfire comedy, finishing with a song. Got a fair amount of laughs and closed to a fair hand. FARRELL TAYLOR & CO. "The African Duke." 28 min. The new edition of their old sketch was a big laughing and applause hit. Four persons are employed, two women doing musical numbers and one scoring exceptionally. strong. The two men furnish excellent comedy and the act went over big. HARRY HOLMAN & CO. 14 min. "Adam Killjoy." This is the second or third time we have played this sketch and it has always scored a hit. It was the same thing this time, getting a lot of laughs and closing strong. WALTER WEEMS. 17 min. Working in white face with a lot of good material for his monologue. Got a lot of laughs and did very well with his instrumental finish. His material is fresh and well handled. MLLE. DAZIE & CO. She is supported by four girls and two men in her new offering which is elaborately staged and costumed. Her program is varied and very well executed, particularly all the solo numbers. A very flashy patriotic dance gave the act a striking finish and it closed very strong. (24 min.) ELIDA NORRIS. 14 min. This girl has improved wonderfully since she played this house several years ago and was a big applause hit. Her songs are new and each number brought results. She won an extra hand for some lively dancing as an encore. MC KAY & ARDINE. 15 min. They repeated the good impression made here with the same act used last season. Little or no change has been made, but it is still a good laugh-winner and closed to a big hand. LOS RODRIQUES. 8 min. A very good perch act by two men. Most of their tricks are new and skilfully handled. They have a very showy finishing trick that held close attention and the act did very well in the closing position. GENERAL REMARKS. This show went over in excellent shape on one of the hottest days of the season. Plenty of music and comedy surround the big dance feature and there were several hits. CUTS RIVES & ARNOLD: Expression "I'm a bachelor but I'm willing to go wrong;" "Oh, my God" and "Who the hell" as well as business of wrestling with the girl and slapping her on the chest.
