CITY PROVIDENCE, R.I. THEATRE B. F. KEITH'S Week of SEPT. 30th, 1918 We have an excellent bill this week. I never saw a show give greater satisfaction in spite of the fact that business is not good, due to the scare caused by the Influenza Epedemic which has materially cut into our business. CHAS. LOVENBERG. JACK & FORIS: Comedy acrobatic act. These men have a number of new ideas and a good sense of light comedy, together with a number of excellent acrobatic tricks. A Very good opening act. 8 minutes full stage; close 3 min. in one. CHRIS RICHARDS: Well know[n], eccentric comedian whose grotesque dancing is the feature of his act, went very well. 11 min. in one ANN GRAY: Harpist and vocalist, a very attractive young woman, pleasing personality, good voice and plays the harp very well indeed, made quite a hit. 12 min. in one. JANE COURTHOPE & CO: "Our Family" The vehicle is one that appeals to almost everyone, because of its human touch and therefor the act went very well indeed and I would advise all managers to play it in spite of the fact that the acting is not very good. 20 minutes, full stage. FOUR HARMONY KINGS: Four colored men, good voices neatly dressed, who sing old and new songs,-exceptionally well. This act was about the big hit of the show. 20. min. in one. BERT BAKER & CO. "Prevarication." This is another act that makes a very big hit, in a laughing way, regardless of the very indifferent acting of Mr. Baker's supporting Co. 22 min. full stage. AMES & WINTHROP: Travesty and dancing. These people have a fine sense of humor, are good dancers and their work is well presented and produced with effective costumes and draperies an excellent offering, 22 min. open & Close in one. LES GROHS: About the best contortion act we have these days. 8 min. in one. MOTION PICTURES: O. K. Cuts: CHRIS RICHARDS: "What The Devil"--"The Spanish Influenza" "Damn"- - "Son Of A Gun". JANE COURTHOPE & CO: Please discontinue the use of real sugar and butter in your act. The laughs created do not warrant the waste of food these days. BERT BAKER & CO. "What The HeLL". Ames & Winthrop: Reference to Spanish Influenza.
