PROVIDENCE, R. I. B. F. KEITH'S NOVEMBER 19th, 8 The show this week is not quite up to what we have been having this season. While not bad, can probably best be described as mediocre. Some of the acts were quite disappointing. CHARLES. LOVENBERG. WALKER & TEXAS: Man and woman in a lariat act with comedy intermingled. Fitted first rate in this position. 11 min. full stage Special scenery. ED MORTON: Singer of popular songs. Mr. Morton served excellently to give the show a good start and went a long way to -helping the bill. To say that he made a hit would be putting it very mildly. 14 min. in one. HENNINGS & MARK: Youthful couple in songs and dances, nicely arranged and elaborately presented. A good act for the spot and easily worth all they are getting. 17 minutes full stage with short opening and closing in one. MILLS & LOCKWOOD: These two men were originally booked for the next to closing spot which they by no means could fill, in fact before I notified them of their change of position, they requested that they be moved up. In this position they went fairly well. I consider the act would be well paid at $200. 12 min. in one. KIMBERLY & PAGE: Here is another act which went fairly well, but is quite a disappointment. The act is excellently presented with special scenery and has a pretty little story, but is lacking in comedy. I don't think Miss Page plays the part which is the star one of the sketch, as well as it should be played. In the hands of Claude & Fannie Usher, I think the act would have value, as it is, I don't care much for it. It went nicely with the audience but that is all I can say. 20 min. full stage. FRANK GABY: Ventriloquist who presents his act in a very unusual manner and has a great deal of ability; made a real big hit. 20 min. very short opening in one then to two, and three minutes, closing in one. DIANE & RUBINI: Violinist and French singer. Mr. Rubini is a very fine performer upon the violin. Miss Diane's work is hardly fitted for polite vaudeville. On Monday afternoon she went about as far as anyone ever went on the Providence Keith Stage and even after having been modified, it is pretty strong for Puritanical New England. Of course she got plenty of applause, but the real hit of the act was made by Mr. Rubini. 25 minutes, full stage. HICKMAN BROTHERS: Black-face comedians who certainly made them laugh. 14 minutes in one. LAMB'S MANIKINS: Not the best act of the kind we have ever played. 10 minutes, full stage. MOTION PICTURES: O. K. CUTS: FRANK GABY: Hell MLLE. DIANE: Cut entire third song about adventures of a young girl. Wear shoes and stockings. Modify wiggles and motions. HENNINGS & MARKS: Miss Marks, wear some lace and things in the upper part of your costume.
