PHILADELPHIA B. F. KEITH'S DECEMBER 30, 8. AMERICAN RED CROSS PICTURES - 9 mins. A new series, called, "Rebuilding Broken Lives." DEWITT, BURNS & TORRENCE - 11 mins. The same act they have been using for years and it is still a very good opener for a holiday week bill. THE FOUR OF US - 14 mins. Four men in a straight singing turn. Most all of their numbers are popular and tinged with comedy. Did very well. "ELLY" - 14 mins. A little girl who does a juggling act on the order of Selma Braatz. Very prettily staged in an elaborate boudoir setting. She has a routine of very showy tricks, all very well handled and was a good sized applause hit. A man is used as an assistant. FRANK GABY - 21 mins. A very good ventriloquial act with a single dummy but lacking speed and drags. He has some cross-fire comedy talk, but there is nothing novel in his act until the finish which he works up very well. Got a lot of laughs and finished to a good hand. NORTON & NICHOLSON - 21 mins. presenting "A Dramatic Cartoon". This is the old act they used under the name of "Ella's All Right." Act just the same but was as big a hit as ever. MURIEL WINDOW - 17 min. This girl has been playing around New York and some of her "ad lib" talk was a bit strong for this house and was eliminated after the first show, but her songs were a big hit. She sang several numbers and everyone went over big. Were several changes of costume which caused the audience to buzz. Finished strong. BESSIE CLAYTON & The CANSINOS- 30 min. Second week for this act and went as big as it did all last week, the audience going into ecstacies over the dancing of the entire group. Undoubtedly the best dancing act we have ever played. MEHLINGER & MEYER 18 min. Following a lot of comedy acts, these boys were a riot of applause in the next to closing spot. Songs went great and they were forced to come back for a couple of extra encores. Finished very strong. THOSE GIRLS OF THE ALTITUDE - 8 mins. A very showy aerial novelty by four girls. They work on an apparatus similar to that of the Cruzon Sisters but their routine is different and in the closing position they held the audience and won a liberal share of the applause. GENERAL REMARKS - This is another great holiday bill with plenty of snap and comedy. It went over with great results with a capacity audience including one thousand children. CUTS Frank Gaby - Elimination of the word "Hell". Norton & Nicholson - Expression "My Gawd" used twice. Muriel Window- Ad lib remarks to soldiers in the audience and the expression "We have to give the soldiers some fun."
