PHILADELPHIA B. F. KEITH'S JANUARY 6, 9 CURRENT EVENTS - First showing. Very satisfactory. LORD & FULLER - 10 mins. Man and woman in a series of unicycle tricks. A good routine of fancy riding enlivened by some comedy by the man. Finished in one with a violin number which was only fair but the act made a good opener. ESPE & DUTTON- 12 mins. Two men in a comedy talking and heavyweight juggling act. Started lightly with their talk but the weight juggling brought them good results and they finished very well with some comedy acrobatics. ELMER EL CLEVE - 14 mins. A big hit. He played a variety of numbers on the Xylophone and every one scored. Opens with a bit of talk and injects some comedy during his playing. Finished strong. GIBSON & CONNELLI "Their Honeymoon" - 26 mins. One of the biggest hits for a comedy sketch in a long while. Audience in a roar of laughter from start to finish. Closed very strong bringing Mr. Gibson back for a speech of thanks. Ought to be a big hit anywhere. WELLINGTON CROSS - 28 mins. The best act he has ever played. Has a lot of good stories and songs and puts them over in great shape. After finishing to a big hand he and Billie gibson, of the preceeding act, did an enchore of burlesque dancing and mind-reading that was an absolute riot. LILLIAN FITZGERALD - 21 mins. Did very well, following all the big laughs, with her travesty bits and songs. Her first couple of numbers are the best and gave her a great start but the remainder could stand some improvement. Clarence Senna did very well with a couple of piano numbers. MARMEIN SISTERS & DAVID SCHOOLER - 24 mins. A new high-class dancing and musical act that registered a good sized hit. The girls do all the dancing and Mr. Schooler won plenty of applause with two piano selections. Act is framed up along new lines, prettily staged and attractively dressed. It proved very entertaining and finished to a good hand. HENRY LEWIS - 15 mins. He was placed too far down in the bill, following the big riot by Gibson & Connelli and Cross and did not do his best at the opening matinee. His stuff, however, is all very good, well handled and got plenty of laughs and in the new position brought excellent results at the night show. He was very well received. MIRANO BROS. - 5 mins. A very showy aerial act by two men. It has played here before and in the closing position put a great finish to this bill. It held the audience seated and thrilled, getting a big hand at the finish. GENERAL REMARKS - Owing to the illness of Gertrude Hoffman this show was made over at the last minute but the material is there and after the running order was changed for the night show it furnished satisfactory entertainment. Opened to a capacity audience and went big despite handicaps. CUTS Wellington Cross - The "Naughty Naughty" story. Henry Lewis - Use of the words "Influenza" and "Bushwa" The running order was changed to the followins:- 1 Lord & Fuller 2 Espe & Dutton 3 Marmein Sisters 4. Henry Lewis 5. Lillian Fitzgerald 6. El Cleve 7. Gibson & Connelli 8. Wellington Cross 9. Mirano Bros.
