PROVIDENCE. R. I. B. F. KEITH'S MARCH 3rd, 9 We have a very good show this week. In some spots the strength was not all that I had hoped for, but as a whole it plays very well. CHAS. LOVENBERG. CHALLEN & KEKE: Man and woman; the woman being really no more than an assistant to hand the man his properties, but the man does one of the best wire walking that I have ever seen. Corking good opening act. 8 min. full stage. MASTERS & KRAFT: Two young fellows who do some very good eccentric dancing presented in a new and novel manner. 13 min. in one. NEWHOFF & PHELPS: Two rather ordinary performers who with the help of some excellent material get by very nicely. They were originally scheduled for a later spot which they did not hold very well and moved up here where they scored first rate. 21 min. in one. J. C. MACK & CO: In an old fashioned farce hokum act that certainly made them laugh. 23 min. full stage. [JONES & GREENLEE?]: Man and woman in pretty good talking and singing [turn?] In number three spot in the afternoon they filled very well, at this spot in the evening, they did not go so strong, although better for the spot than Newhoff & Phelps. A good act for No. 3. 13 min. in one. LUCILLE CHALFANT: Colatura soprano. An attractive young woman with a light, but pleasant voice and excellent technique. 9 min. in one. AVON COMEDY FOUR: Of course they made them laugh. They did not go so well with their singing, however, it is a corking good act. 25 min. open full stage/ close in one. THE WEAKER ONE: One of the finest if not the very best sketches of its kind that we have ever played. A cast of the very best quality and a very good production. We had this act placed early in the program in the afternoon, closing the show with the Avon Comedy Four, but as the audience all walked away from the Avon Four's singing, this arrangement worked out better for the audience remained intact last night for "The Weaker One" and then gave them two splendid curtain calls. 25 min. full stage. MOTION PICTURES: O. K.
