PHILADELPHIA B. F. KEITH'S MARCH 10th 9. KINOGRAMS - 14 mins. A very good lot of pictures. GORDON & RICA - 11 mins. About the same as on previous visits. Do some very showy cycling with comedy chatter mixed in. Did very well in the opening spot. BILLIE SCHOEN - 14 mins. A very novel way of introducing his monologue, using a baby carriage with three infant figures in it, and relates the troubles of a married man. Uses two songs. The finish of his act is a little weak and he drew only a fair hand. LE MAIRE & HAYES - 12 mins. Substituted at the last minute for Bryan & Broderick. They work in black-face and use a lot of cross-fire comedy talk which got only a fair amount of laughs. A third man is used for the finish which is badly in need of strengthening. First part of their act got laughs, but finish is very weak. FOUR HALEY SISTERS - 11 mins. A novelty for a singing turn and a big applause winner. The girls have good voices and harmonize cleverly. One injects just enough comedy to liven up the act. They were a good sized applause hit, and finished very good. EDMOND HAYES - 19 mins. This is the former burlesque comedian and he has a novel dramatic sketch in "Moonshine", in which he is assisted by one man. It is a story of the Moonshiners in the south and has a vein of comedy running through the dialogue. An unusual story, well played and entirely away from anything yet seen here. It was given the closest attention, and finished to a good hand. BELLE BAKER - 20 mins. She reported for rehearsal suffering with a very bad cold and in order to give her a chance to rest up for the night's show she was moved up the bill but took her regular place at night. She was as usual a tremendous hit and after singing several numbers, all but two of which were new, the audience were still begging for more and refused to let her go until she explained that she must save her voice. NORTON & LEE - 17 mins. The peppery dancing of this pair took them over with a riot of applause. All of their numbers were very well received and they finished strong. Miss Lee made a stunning appearance in two or three costumes. LYONS & YOSCO - 20 mins. Being shifted down to the next to closing did not hurt these boys one bit. They scored their usual big applause hit, having to do an extra song before the audience would let them go. CHALLEN & KEKE - 6 mins. A man and woman in a very prettily staged wire act. They have a good routine of tricks which include dancing and jumping on a wire. A good looking act and well liked in the closing position. GENERAL REMARKS - Show went over in very good shape despite necessary shift in running order for the matinee. It was better at night and will furnish very good Lenten season entertainment for our patrons. CUTS BELLE BAKER - Entire song in which reference to "Ambish" is used. BILLIE SCHOEN - "For "God Sake" used in song.
