REPORT OF BIJOU THEATRE, WOONSOCKET, R. I., Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday, April 28, 29 and 30. CHALLEN & KEKE--- "Dainty, Different and Daring--man and woman; juggling hat, jumping over table and performing feats with bicycle on the wire; special drop; 6 min.; went good. BEN SMITH--- Singing Comedian; singing and talking; blackface; has a very captivating way in telling his stories, also his singing was low and sweet--this act took well with the audience and went over big. 15 min. in one. J. C. LEWIS & CO.--- In a Novelty Playlet "Billy's Santa Claus"; a family of Lewis's--father, mother and two children--boy and girl; the scene is set as Christmas Eve. This act also went big. 24 min. full. A. S. Watson Report on the show at the "Scenic" the week of April 21st. 1919. Senator John Clark. "Irish Monalogue" Same old act of many years. Went fairly good. Mabel Whitman & Her Dixie Kids. Not up to the usual standard of this style of act. Just got over. Bill & Maud Keller. "The Marriage Promoter" Pretty good act. The Eight Dominoes. High class singing act. Went very good. Monday afternoon there was but Six people in the act, they say Seven people complete the act. Thursday The Serenaders. "Italian Street Singers" Quite a good act. Very good for the price paid for this act. Alice Hamilton. "A bit of old lavender & lace" Songs & recitations" A very pretty act and went good. Thompson & Robinson "Colored" Act went very good. The Four Casting Campbells. A corking fine act. Went big. Shows for all week, Good. Reddy
