HUDSON THEATRE UNION HILL N.J. JOHN C. PEEBLES. Week of September 26, 1910. ADAMS BROTHERS, Skatorial Comedians. Two boys working in blackface, doing a little singing, talking and roller skating. Act is full of comedy and makes a most acceptable opening act and will go nicely anywhere. Carry two drops in 1 and 1 1/2. Time 12 min. JOHN CONNERY & CO., in "The Markham Divorce Case." 3 people. Have been racking my brain since the matinee trying to discover what it was all about. It is supposed to be a dramatic sketch from the pen of Oliver White, who wrote "The Visitor." Have been thinking seriously of offering a prize for the one suggesting the best solution of what the thing really is. In my opinion it is the worst apology for a dramatic sketch that has ever been perpetrated on an unsuspecting manager. Can see no possible hope for it anywhere. Moved from #5 spot. C.D.Fcy in 3. Time 14 min. ROSS & MOORE, Comedians and Vocalists. Two comedians in a rather entertaining act in 1. Ross has a good singing voice and Moore is a good Hebrew comedian who does not wear whiskers to get his comedy. Their act takes place in front of a moving picture establishment and they have a good line of patter and some good songs and parodies. Went very well here. Own drop in 1. Time 17 min. ARTIE & ADELE NELSON and their "PHANTASTIC PHANTOMS." This act is a novelty and went over in good shape today. People work fast and their offering is most entertaining all the way through. Own set in 3. Time 14 min. BERT VON KLEIN & GRACIE GIBSON, Refined singing and dancing novelty. Their opening song should be changed and will be tomorrow as it does not land. These people have a most pleasing novelty act that will go well on any bill particularly before an audience appreciating class. They make five changes of costumes, their songs, with the exception of the opening one, are good and act should make a hit anywhere. Moved down from #2 spot. Own plush drop in 2. Time 14 min. J. FRANCIS DOOLEY & CORINNE SALES, "Pavement Patter." I do not recall an act that has received such laughter and applause in this house as this one. they were simply a "riot" and that ought to satisfy anyone. Street in 1. Time 29 min. ED. MARTIN'S DOG BANDITS in "THE GREAT TRAIN ROBBERY." The dogs worked rather slow this afternoon, probably due to the fact that they have been laying off. The act is one that should prove a distinct novelty and ought to draw money to any house in the country. They have a little act that is away from everything in the dog line and the scenic effects are the best I have ever seen with an animal act. Special set in 4. Time 10 min.
