C. E. BARNS. PHILADELPHIA SHOW. JAN. 30, 1911. BELLE ONRA. 7 min. F. S. Girl making a very pleasing appearance and doing stunts on the trapeze in a very rapid and skilful manner. Received considerable applause during her act, and closed well. Makes a good opener. THREE VAGRANTS. 15 min. in one. Vocalists and musicians in grotesque street costume. The tenor is exceptionally good and their selections, solos, duets and trios, were well applauded. Could hold a good spot with credit. UNA CLAYTON & CO. 27 min. F.S. "His Local Color." A very good sketch indeed with a good deal of sprightly character, humor and some pathos. Held the interest of the audience and closed to big applause. CUNNINGHAM & MARION. 12 min. in one. This is a good act to wake up the house. Their line of talk is amusing, but their knockabout comedy is a real scream. Closed strong. EIGHT BERLIN MADCAPS. 21 min. F.S. This is a mighty pretty act, swift-moving and expert. The girls are all of them young, pretty and costumed becomingly. Their various evolutions received good applause as did their ground tumbling and dancing. Closed brilliantly. LADDIE CLIFF. 21 min. in one. Big advance hand. Laddie is a favorite here and everything he says and does is well applauded. Introduced some new songs, "The Coster and the Swell," "Bit by Bit," "Howdy Do, Miss Montague," and others, all of which were quite up to the standard. Finished with the grotesque dance which got a big laugh. VALERIE BERGERE & CO. 29 min. F.S. "Billie's First Love." Advance applause. This is the first play in which Miss Bergere appeared in Vaudeville in this city, and the one in which, I am sure, she appears to the best advantage. A very absorbing theme and strongly presented. An unqualified hit. Closed big. NELLIE NICHOLS. 14 min. in one. Advance applause. Miss Nichols makes a very pretty appearance and is certainly a very versatile and classy comedienne, full of vivacity and character humor. The audience gave her a strong reception and was loth to let her go on the finish, compelling her to make a little speech of thanks. A real hit in a hard spot. SEBASTIAN MERRILL & CO. 13 min. F.S. This act makes a very good closer. There is plenty of comedy with the trick cycle riding that is a little of the Ahearn variety, all of it very good. The loop-the-loop on the bicycle, with both men on the wheel, wound the act up with a trill following the comedy. Big finishing hand. KINETOGRAPH "New York Police Force" Pictures well taken and thoroughly interesting to any audience. GENERAL REMARKS. Everybody seemed well pleased with the show this afternoon, and there was an abundance of complimentry remarks on the part of the audience this afternoon. Think it will be a winner with our crowd for the balance of the week, as we have started off with capacity business. CUTS- UNA CLAYTON Expression H--- it is.
