Report on PROVIDENCE SHOW, Week of March 24, 1913. CHAS. LOVENBURG, Manager. We have a very good show this week, but somehow or another it didn't seem to make the hit that to my mind some less good bills have made of late. It may have been because there were a number of children in -- it being the Easter Holiday - who didn't appreciate this style of entertainment, there being nothing in it that would appeal to them. JOHN HIGGINS Jumping act. Good opening number, but his salary is plenty for what he does. 9 Min. F. S. TALKING PICTURES Pleasing as well as they have been. 15 Min. in One. MADDEN & FITZPATRICK First time here for their sketch, "The Wanderer." Very good vehicle. They must be watched, however, as they are inclined to introduce a lot of profanity and objectionable features. 23 Min. F. S. CAESAR NESI Italian tenor. Very good. Applause hit of the show. 12 Min. in One? RAY COX A new act, concluding with her airship; by long odds the best thing she ever did. A good laugh creating feature. While the salary is big, I think she is worth it or at least as near worth it as some who are getting as much salary. 29 Min. in Two. "AT THE MOVIES" This act didn't "knock them off the benches" by any means as they have been reported to have done in other cities. It got a number of laughs but nothing very big. If it doesn't go better on future performances than it did this afternoon, I'm afraid it is not going to have any tremendous value. 25 Min. Open in Two. Closes F. S. CLIFF GORDON The first half of Mr. Gordon's act went very strong. The last part of it fell down and he closed rather quietly. I still think, as I always have, that he is overpaid about $200. 14 Min. in One. LEITZEL SISTERS Ring and trapeze act. One of these girls is quite remarkable and has a dash to her work which makes it attractive. The act as a whole is good, fully worth the money. 9 Min. F. S. MOTION PICTURES O. K.
