CRITICISM OF B.F. KEITH'S UNION SQUARE THEATRE- MARCH 24 TH. 1913. LENA PANTZER A pleasing little wire act that we all know and one that opened the show in good manner. Six minutes, full stage. RALPH SMALLEY It is a pity we have to play Mr. Smalley in this position, as no doubt he would be more appreciated further down, however, he was given every attention, and finished with a strong hand. Ten minutes in one. GLADYS ALEXANDRIA AND COMPANY In the dainty little playlet, called "Broadway Love". This well known skit went fully as strong as when last presented. Sixteen minutes, full stage. MILLER AND COOGAN Brought the first real laugh in the show. All of their material went with a roar and they finished to big applause. Nineteen minutes in one. KARL REMY'S PETS A very pretty comedy dog act, rather picturesque, full of good laughs and received a big hand. Fourteen minutes, full stage. JOSEPHINE DUNFEE This woman has all the qualifications necessary for a genuine high class star. She wears stunning gowns, has a good personality and makes a charming appearance. Her voice is a lyric-soprano, rich and of a wide range. Her program is perfectly adapted for vaudeville which consists of "The Song of a Bird", "Polandaise", a Medley and closed with "Last Night Was the End of the World." After her first selection she was given tremendous applause and a big hand after each song. She could go over the circuit as a headiner and more than make good. Miss Dunfee uses Ernst Biel as a conductor. TALKING PICTURES Showng two subjects, "The Indian Girl's Revenge" and "The Five Bachelors". Both good, and, while they did not seem to create any great sensation, presume they were appreciated. BEN HOLT AD COMPANY Assisted by Miss Marie Wayne, in the skit "The New Bell Boy" Simply the laughing scream of the show. Twenty-one minutes, open in one, then go to one and a half and back to one.
