22 B. F. KEITH'S THEATRE - BOSTON - WEEK MARCH 31 - 1913. (R. G. Larsen.) THE VAN DYKES. 15 minutes in two. Palace. A very fair opening act, man and woman cartoonists, which I discovered played the Orpheum here for Loew three months ago. Of course, this did not help it here any. PENFOLD and MARSHALL. 15 minutes in one. Olio drop. Two men and a piano. Got over in very good shape in this spot. BUCKLEY'S ANIMALS. 8 minutes f.s. Special set. One good animal act which was a big hit. THOMAS A. EDISON KINETOHPNOE [KINETOPHONE]. 15 minutes special sheet in one. Held the interest, and the second film got a number of laughs. CLIFF GORDON. 14 minutes in one. Olio. Gordon flopped here this afternoon next-to-closing. In this spot he got some laughs, but was by no means value for the money. FOUR RIANOS. 13 minutes f.s. Special set. One good acrobatic act with lots of laughs, and a very big finish. Kept the show going along in good shape. WILBUR MACK and NELLA WALKER. 16 minutes in one. Garden. A new line of stuff which got some laughs, as well as the old. In fact, a hit. WM. H. MACART and ETHELYN BRADFORD. "The Second Generation." 26 minutes f.s. C.D.F. A good Irish comedy that got laughs every minute. Finished strong. PAULINE MORAN. 10 minutes in one. O.P. Drapery. Took a chance with this girl in this spot, and she was the hit of the bill. Personally, I think she is one of the biggest 'finds' of the years. GREAT DE LASSO TROUPE. 6 minutes f.s. Circus cyclorama. A great casting act, swift, and sensational, that closed a fast show in splendid shape. CUTS: Van Dykes - referring to people in audience. Buckley's Animals - business of dress dropping off dog and showing drawers. Four Rianos - body motions and picking lice from girl's head. Macart and Bradford word 'Hell." Cliff Gordon - word 'Damn' and gag about wives going on strike and scabs taking their places.
