25 REPORT ON COLUMBUS SHOW WEEK MARCH 31, W. W. PROSSER. THE DOOLEYS: Young man and woman, introducing singing, dancing, cycle and lariet work all of which is good and which made a favorable impression. Went well throughout and finished strong. Special drop in 5. 10 minutes. (Johnstown and Altoona) REISNER & GORES: Man and woman. Songs, dances and talk. Introducing character changes. Proved very acceptable throughout and finishing strong. Olio and special in 1, 17 minutes. (Pittsburgh) SEARL ALLEN & CO: Three men, one woman in "The Promoter", a typical Allen skit with a jumble of rapid-fire talk and race-horse action. Lots of good laughs, and a winner. Finished strong. Library in 3, 16 minutes. (Cincinnati) MO MORTON: " The Comedian Who Sings". He delivered six numbers in great shape, each one going stronger than its predecessor. Strong finish. Olio in 1, 14 minutes. EDISON TALKING PICTURES: Lecture and "Temptation of Faust". The former didnot excite indue interest, no doubt owing to its showing last week, but the later held strict attention and won liberal applause at the finish. The pictures were perfectly presented. Picture sheet in 1, 13 minutes. THE FOUR CLIFTONS: Four men. Posing [specialists?]. Very good number of its kind, with many new tricks. Held attention throughout and finished strong. (Cincinnati) LILLIAN SHAW.: Nothing better than she , in her line of work. Very much Tanguay for hustle and getting to it. Big hit throughout. Strong finish. Olio and street in 1. Garden in 2, 17 min. (Cincinnati) JULIUS TANNEN: Wellknown monologist who is in a class alone. Unquestionable success. Plenty of laughter and undivided attention. Very strong finish. Olio in 1, 15 minutes. (Louisville) LEACH-LeQUINLYN TRIO: Two women, one man in novelty wire act. The man performing the various stunts with women supporting wire a la iron jaw. This act is different from anything that has been shown here and its principal defect is the lack of showiness in paraphernalia. They did very well, however, gaining applause after each trick and finishing quite strong. (St. Louis) PATHE WEEKLY: O.K. NOTE:- I am indebted to Mr. H. A. Daniels for Julius Tannen, The Lead-LaQUINLYN Trio and Reisner and Gorse, and, had it not been for him, we would have had but five acts for the week which was the number we opened with, Monday matinee. This was the fault of no one, being wholly due to the Railroad conditions in this section on account of floods.
