SHOW REPORT - B. F. KEITH'S THEATRE, CINCINNATI, O. Sunday Evening Performance Week of April 6th, 1913. John F. Royal. RAMSDELL TRIO: 12 min. F. S. Garden. Two girls and a man. A neat, refined dancing act. Girls make some pretty changes, and do clever solo dances. One girl sings a French song, but voice very weak. Proved a picturesque and pleasing opening act. Very well received. LOUISVILLE. MUSICAL SPILLERS: 16 min. Open in one, go to F.S. and close in one. Two men and three women in musical act. Full of life and ginger, and a fine act of its kind. The sixth number of the original act was injured a week ago, and had to be cut out. Act went well - got a splendid closing. KINETOPHONE: 13 minutes. "Dick, the Highwayman" - Pleasing. "The Politician" - went very big. Much hearty laughter that drowned the kinetophone for a while. REISNER & GORE: 18 min. in one - special drop. Man and woman, singing, dancing and talking. The girl is a pretty and graceful dancer, also a clever singer. The man is a comedian who puts over a line of talk few could get away with. Both have personality. One of the big hits of the bill. It might be well to remark that this act opened on Saturday to replace Ralph Herz, next to closing, and almost stopped the show at both matinee and evening performances. In this spot they are going very big, and the sentiment expressed is that the act is one of the best of the season. PITTSBURG, PA. SEARL ALLEN PLAYERS: 14 min. interior F. S., C. D. F. Three men and a woman in rapid fire nonsensical chatter, entitled "The Promoter". Much speed and hearty laughs. Nothing really wonderful about the act, but it seemed to get over, and the audience liked it. Good finish. BOSTON, MASS. JULIUS TANNEN: 18 min. in one. Considering he followed much talk, he went very big. Got plenty of good laughs, and a splendid closing. LOUISVILLE. "THE SYSTEM": 42 min. Three scenes, open and close F.S.; second scene in one - special set. Big cast. Melodramatic act, with Taylor Granville and Laura Pierpont, Act broke in new principal here, and others have to double in parts because regular performers did not get here. The act proved a big success. Miss Pierpont, being a local girl, naturally brought some business. Later this week the act will doubtless run smoother, and, of course, give better results. There are some bright lines throughout the act that invoke hearty laughs, and loud applause that usually follows a "foiled again" line by the hero. Many curtain calls at the finish - real ones. INDIANAPOLIS. LILLIAN SHAW: 19 min., open in one, then in 2, and close in one. A hit. Sings four songs; first two numbers did not get her much, as they were heard here before. Song on marriage won the audience, and had them screaming; this made her fourth song big, and she closed very strong. DETROIT. FOUR CLIFTONS: 8 min. F. S. Palace. Four clean cut athletes in a neat and artistic offering. Open with status posing, then do feats of athletic strength. INDIANAPOLIS. CUTS: "It came up outside, etc." in Searl Allen Players. Also "hell" in same act. The words, "Go to hell" are used in third scene of "The System". To eliminate them would be to spoil a big scene, and as they are put over in far from vulgar manner, because of their dramatic value, I left them in. REMARKS: This is one of the longest shows of the season, and the people stayed in. It might be well to state that the talking picture, entitled "The Politician", was really a tremendous hit and caused the audience to do considerable talking about it in the lobby going out.
