37 HUDSON THEATRE, UNION HILL, N. J. WEEK OF APRIL 7, 1913. Tuesday night's show. Jos. R. Smith. [KNOS?] TRIO--- Man and two women.[Head?] and hand balancers who perform several clever gymnastic stunts.The scene is a windmill and for the finale the girls shad their Dutch costumes, appearing in tights and fasten their teeth in the windmill blades and are raised above and below the mill.It is a very fair opening act.F.S. special drop, 10 Min. [MARIE?] KING SCOTT--- Dressed grotesquely as a country girl she delivers a humorous monologue and sings two songs.Fair number two act.In one 12 Min. COOPER AND RICARDO--- Man and a woman, character stingers.They change their costumes twice, possess nice voices and get their stuff over well.The act went very well.In one 16 Min. "BURGLARY A LA MODE"---Seven men and a woman.Scene a pawnshop.The plot is this; A servant girl has stolen her mistresses diamonds and pawned them for $20.She is in the shop pleading to get them back when her lover, a theif for whom she stole the diamonds and pawned them that he might have the money,comes in.The pawnbroker knows the diamonds are worth many thousand dollars and does not want to give them.up. Her lover is surprised to find her there, but she explains and he orders her to leave and let him deal with the broker. While they are talking the representative of a moving picture firm enters and makes plans to stage a fake holdup,The theif overhears the plan and hurries out to meet his pals.They agree to pose as the moving picture people, steal the auto with the apparatus, and rob the broker.They are pulling off the robbery when a police leutenant enters, but he is told it is a fake robbery and he leaves.Having got all the stuff the theives enter the auto and speed away leaving the broker to laugh at the joke on the police officer.Presently he learns it was a real holdup and immediately calls the police.The search begins The scene changes to a country road.The theif is talking to his girl. He has the swag in a bag with him.hearing the cops approaching he takes the diamonds from the bag he replaced them with their bricks and lays down beside the gutter and blacks his face with some soot from a convenient tar kettle.Then the ops come up the theif looks like a nigger.He makes an excuse and the police allow him and the girl to get away with the swag done up in a rag which the theif explains contains his laundry.After he is gone the police discover the bag, which they found behind a rock contained only bricks.As they realize they were tricked the curtain goes down.The act went good. F.S. special set 20 Min. INTERMISSION--- [?] BROTHERS--- They play accordeone and one does some good whistling.They render several operas and play some of the ragtime airs. The at went good. In one 11 Min. [letter?].H.St.JAMES AND COMPANY, Presenting "A Chip of the Old Block". Four men and a woman.Scene, reception parlor in the Actors Home, L.I. Two of the old inmates are talking when one receives a telegram telling him that his son is coming to see him.The old man, who has been a comedian, is proud of his boy whom he beleives to be a leading legitimate actor.Then the son arrives the old actor is greatly disappointed.The son is a leading comedian like his father weighs nearly 300 pounds. The son's jokes win the old actor over, hoswver and he tells him of his grandson whom he has named after the old man.There is much good comedy in the act and it has just a touch of pathos.Everything went over nicely and the act went good. C. D. F. 22 Min. CHUNG-HWA COMEDY FOUR--- The four Chinaman enter for their first song wearing the customary long flowing oriental gown.After that song they reappear wearing evening clothes.They sing several numbers and inject some comedy in a dialogue.They close doing a Highland fling in kilts. The act went very good. In one 14 Min. GILETTE'S ANIMALS--- This well known dog and monkey act went big. F. S. 8 Min. PHOTOPLANK--- Satisfactory. (Cute.) "Burgulary A La Mode", the words, "damn" and "hell".
