40 CRITICISM OF B.F. KEITH'S UNION CRITICISM OF B.F. KEITH'S UNION SQUARE THEATRE WEEK OF APRIL 14TH. 1913. HONORS AND LE PRIMCE Two men in an eccentric acrobatic comedy, which consists of some good stunts, with plenty of good comedy. A splendid opening act and one that could go further down. Eight minutes, full stage. TALKIES "Bob Serving the Writ" and "The Musical Blacksmiths". The former a weak comedy subject and the latter is a good theme well put together. Twelve minutes. JOHN TERRY AND MABEL LAMBERT "International Character Impersonators" giving several portrayals of English characters with patter and songs. They have improved somewhat since their last American appearance. Their material is good, but beyond the jury here. They are going fairly well. Presume if placed differently (which is impossibel [impossible] in this bill) they would show to better advantage. Twenty-two minutes, open in one, and back to one. WILLARD SIMMS AND COMPANY In the same old act but the same old hit as before. The first big roar of the day. Twenty-four minutes, with a long encore in one. JULIET? This young lady held her own here, in fact, I don't believe I ever saw her go better. A splendid act and one which no doubt, was appreciated. Twenty-three minutes in one. OFEDOS MANON OPERA COMPANY Two men and two women, in Colonial costume, giving selections from grand operas. Great voices and the man who made the selections should be congratulated, as they have the cream of all the best. A splendid vocal number. Twelve minutes in one. JAMES DONOVAN AND CHAS. McDONALD A splendid act, quite original and one that scored heavily. Nineteen minutes in one and a half. BERT FITZGIBBONS Just singing sox songs and if it was not for the time limit he could get away with more. A hit at every performance. Fourteen minutes in one. HERZOGS EIGHT STALLIONS A splendid closing number and one that held the audience intact until the finish. Thirteen minutes, full stage. Cuts:-Terry & Lambert-Jewish recitation-Why girls go wrong joke-Help to make Niagara Falls- Willard Simms-"Looking for work on 14th street" "In bed with doctor" "Fingers to nose"
