42 B. F. KEITH'S HIPPODROME Week of April 15th, 1913 Cleveland, Ohio THE MUSICAL SPILLERS -- 16 minutes. Opening, palace in 4, closing in one. Two colored men, three colored women. This act places the audience in a good humor and held to much better advantage than the usual acrobatic act. (Open) HARRISON ARMSTRONG'S PLAYERS -- in "Squaring Accounts". 18 minutes interior in 2. Not up the Armstrong standard. Purely conversational and it is doubtful if it would hold further down on the bill. (Cincinnati) CUNNINGHAM & MARION -- Acrobats. 12 minutes in one. The best act of its kind we have had this season. Was frequently applauded. Comedy is not too far fetched and the act could easily hold a spot next to closing. (Columbus) EDISON'S KINETOPHONE & SPL REEL -- 20 minutes. "The Suffragette" picture was shown and it was well received. The laughs come as the result of one woman's eccentric manner of speaking, but the arguments were listened to by our audiences with considerable interest. If Monday's showing is to be accepted as a criticism for the week, Cleveland's do mot disapprove of this film. SAM CHIP & MARY MARBLE -- "In the Land of Dykes". 23 minutes, special set. A very acceptable act, high class in every respect. The act has catchy music, offers splendid dancing and all in all can be considered "classy". (Grand Rapids) ED MORTON -- "The Comedian Who Sings". 13 minutes in one. Morton went over big, regardless of the fact that about all he does is to sing some new songs and some old ones, illustrating the same with some rather generous gestures (Atlanta) EDWARDS DAVIS & CO -- in "The Kingdom of Destiny". 29 minutes, special set. This act in the staging and general presentation is above anything of the kind we have had here in vaudeville. Its elaborateness will undoubtedly create talk. The cast is splendid and the offering can be considered a real headline feature. (Cincinnati) CARSON & WILLARD -- 16 minutes, drop in one. This team died at the afternoon show and only went fairly well at the evening performance. (Cincinnati) PRINCE FLORO -- "The African Wonder". 16 minutes C.D.F. in 3. An ape which does just a little more than the other trained apes have done. A big laugh throughout and holds the audience. (Utica)
