HUDSON THEATRE, UNION HILL, N.J. WEEK OF APRIL 21, 1913. Tuesday night's show. Jos. P. Smith. SHINE AND McVOY----Two men, eccentric acrobats who do some tumbling and balancing. The act went fairly well. F.S. 9 Min. WARREN AND ARDIZONI---- Man and a woman, singers.who make three costume changes. They have good voices and render several numbers in good manner. The act went well. In one 20 Min. "MARTY HOGAN'S WIN"----- Seven men and a woman. Two scenes, the first being that of a New York street and the second a ring on a theatre stage. The story is this; Marty Hogan, who is in love with an Irish girl, who works in a restaurant, is going away from town to get a job and earn some money that will enable him to marry his girl. when she hears of the plan she rebels. While they are talking she notices a billboard sign which reads that the champion lightweight of the world will give $500 to anyone who can stay four rounds with him. The girl persuades Hogan to take a chance. He does so and wins by a knockout in the third. The champion's manager refuses to pay claiming his boy has been drugged when a reporter and the theatre manager step up from the audience and demand that the money be paid as it was fairly won. The manager hands it over reluctantly and the curtain rings down as the new champion and his girl embrace. The principal feature of this act and that part which should be the strongest is the bout, and it proved to be the weakest. It looked like a rehearsal. The act went fair. Time of act 20 Min. INTERMISSION----- HOWARD BROTHERS---- Two men who play and juggle banjos at the same time. At one time they juggle six instruments and play them at the same time. They render several compositions before concluding with an operatic pot pourri during which a woman sings accompaniments. They play the aria from several operas and the woman sings, dressed in costume. The act went big. Time of act 21 Min. MANNING, MOORE AND O'ROURKE---- Three men, dressed in evening clothes who sing several popular and character songs, while one plays the piano. The act went very good. In One 12 Min. "THE NAUGHTY WIDOW", Introducing Kate Elinore and a company of six women and thirteen men. Scene, residence of the Naughty Widow on Riverside Drive, New York. The set is very elaborate. Kate Elinore has the principal role and she is given an opportunity to get off a very humorous monologue. There are several good songs introduced and a number of clever dances. The four girls, comprising the chorus make five costume changes and the men of the chorus make four. The costumes are sartorial creations. The dialogue throughout is snappy and witty and the plot furnishes many funny situations. The act is a condensed musical comedy and it went very good. Special set, F.S. 49 Min. PHOTOPLANE---- Satisfactory. (Cut) Marty Hogan's Win, the word, "hell".
