B. F. KEITH'S THEATRE - BOSTON, MASS - WEEK AUGUST 11, '13. (R. G. Larsen.) BELLE HATHAWAY'S MONKEYS. 12 minutes f.s. Garden. One of the best comedy animal acts we have played in a long time. Kept the audience in roars of laughter every minute. SPENCER and WILLIAMS. 14 minutes in one. O.P. Drapery. Man and woman in a rather neat singing and dancing turn that went very well in this position. "THE WOMAN WHO PASSED BY." 25 minutes f.s. Tapestry. This is a one-act play written by Vincent S. Lawrence, a young Boston author, and presented by Frank Monroe of "Alias Jimmy Valentine;" Earle Ryder of "Joseph and His Brethren;" George Ernst; and Miss Lillian Niederauer. It held the interest every minute, and closed strong. From an advertising standpoint, "The Woman Who Passed By" is one of the best local features we have played in some time. JOSEPHINE DUNFEE. 14 minutes in one. Olio drop. Miss Dunfee is in excellent voice. She made three changes of costume, all very stunning, and every one of her numbers was strongly applauded. A decided hit. THE LABAKANS. 8 minutes in one. Garden drop. Two men and a wonderfully clever dog in a routine of acrobatics, a la Work & Ower and Polzin Brothers. The dog is exceptionally good, in fact, the hit of the act. CECIL LEAN and COMPANY. 21 minutes f.s. C.D.F. With 3 minute close in one. Olio drop. Lean received a reception upon his entrance, and everything he did was strongly applauded. The act was nothing short of a great big hit, the travesty on the talking pictures going especially big. GLIDING O'MEARAS. 9 minutes f.s. Palace. A really great pair of dancers, offering three numbers, "The O'Meara Waltz," "The Whirlwind Prance;" and "The Texas Trot." Another big hit. BISON CITY FOUR. 18 minutes in one. Special drop. This wellknown act duplicated its success on previous visits. They have added some new material, all of which went big. RICE, SULLY and SCOTT. 9 minutes f.s. Garden. This trio of bar performers seem to have lost the snap and "go" that formerly distinguished them. The act lacks ginger, and while they made an acceptable closer, still they were by no means the hit they have been on previous visits. CUTS: Cecil Lean - "asleep on bed of roses" gag and reference to "hymn."
