CRITICISM B.F. KEITH'S UNION SQUARE THEATRE- WEEK OF AUG. 25TH, THE OXFORD TRIO Three men in a Basket Ball Exhibition. One representing America, the other England and the third as a referee. Novel, interesting and at times exciting, with plenty of comedy introduced. Splendid act and worthy of a better place. Eleven minutes, full stage. MARINO SISTERS Two young ladies of pleasing appearance and fairly good voices, giving a repertoire of operatic selections in Italian. Just about get over. Thirteen minutes, in one. DARE AUSTIN and COMPANY Two men and a woman in a playlet called, "His Wedding Morning" An English comedy that depends mostly on the business of the act than the lines. Interesting, with several good laughs. The feature of this act is the rapidity in which Mr. Austin changes to a full dress suit, which secures some applause. Twelve Minutes. LUCE, GLYNN AND MAY Formerly Luce and Luce, with another man, working in black face. The instrumental work received some applause, while the comedy is good in spots. Special drop. Sixteen minutes in one. MISS LEITZEL Assisted by Miss Jeanette. Well known ring exhibition which brought the first big round of applause. One of the best acts of this kind we ever had. Twelve minutes, full stage. GEORGE McKAY AND OTTIE ARDINE Formerly of McKay and Cantwell, giving us a very neat singing and dancing specialty, with a lot of bright patter that got the laughs. McKay was given some advance applause and seemed to be quite a favorite. Miss Ardine is a good feeder and scored heavily for her toe dancing. The applause hit of the show. Eighteen minutes. Open in one, full stage, back to one. "JUST HALF WAY" Presented by Allan Dinehart and Ann Heritage. A very dainty playlet and one that appeals to a more refined audience. Very well acted, interesting, with numerous laughs, and a little touch of pathos. Twenty minutes, full stage. CHARLES AND FANNY VAN In their well known skit, "From Stage Carpenter to Ackter" Received some advance applause. Held their own here, securing many laughs and a good hand on their finish. Seventeen minutes in one. "ARCADIA" Seven men and four women in B.A. Rolfe's well known musical production. Big applause for the scenic effects. A splendid offering and one that got over in good shape. Twenty-one minutes, full stage.
