CRITICISM OF B.F. KEITH'S UNION SQUARE THEATRE---WEEK of SEPT. 8TH. GRACE DEGARMO Ring act. A young woman of good appearance giving a splendid ring exhibition. One novel stunt is changing costume while suspended by the teeth. Good opening act. Nine minutes in one. McCORMACK AND WALLACE Presenting their new ventiloquil skit, called, "The Theatrical Agent". A slight improvement on their old act. Contains a lot of stage talk and goes well in spots. All right for an early place. Sixteen minutes, open in two, close in one. EDMUND HAYES AND COMPANY In "The Piano Movers". This this sketch has played too much around New York. While it went fairly well, did not get the laughs as on former occasions. Seventeen minutes, full stage. STORT, GOELETS AND LAFETT Three clean cut young fellows in a novel musical specialty consisting of piano, banjo solos and singing. Their instrumental work is good and they possess fairly good voices. All right for an early place. Twelve minutes in one. EVA FAY Very interesting, held the attention right up to the finish, securing numerous laughs, and got away with it better than I anticipated. Eighteen minutes, full stage, opening in one for about three minutes. FLORENTINE SINGERS Four men and four women, including Marion Littlefield. The male voices of this organization are very good, but I think a change could be made in the women, particularly the soprano. The selections are good and while the act did not go as well as I have heard it on previous occasions, they managed to receive several encores. Nineteen minutes, full stage, close in one. some few minutes. The general routine remains the same with Mr. Wilson singing numerous parodies. Mr. Boyle makes a splendid appearance, has a good voice and in time will be the equal of Batie, as he has everything in his favor. They were the laughing and applause hit of the show. Twenty-one minutes, in one.
