173 B. F. KEITH'S HIPPODROME Week of Sept 22, 1913 Cleveland, Ohio THIESSAN'S DOGS - - 11 minutes. Special velvet drop in 4. Clever man with woman assistant. Evening dress. Acrobatic work with clever fox terriers. well trained and unusually bright dogs doing extraordinary balancing on fore legs. (Indianapolis) FIELD BROTHERS - - Dancers. 8 minutes in one. Street. Two young men giving a breezy performance, opening in old pantomime clog and finishing with eccentric buck and wing dance. (Cincinnati) KLEIN, ABE & NICHOLSON - - 3 men, 17 minutes F. S. in three, close in one. A very ordinary musical act with very bad comedy. Two eccentric and one straight. Act got over big, but it is a mystery how it did it. (Toledo) HOMER MILES & CO - - "On the Edge of Things". 17 minutes. Special set in 4 with a panorama and a lot of stuff. Two men and two women in a comedy melodrama. Miles' janitor is a gem. The sketch would get over on any bill but melodramatic situations could be toned down with profit. (Cincinnati) DIAMOND & BRENNAN - - 18 minutes in one. Olio. Man and woman working straight. Energetic, hard working song and dance team. man is an eccentric comedian who makes the act a feature o n he bill. Repeated encores from a delighted audience at both shows. (Chicago) THE PURPLE LADY - - 30 minutes musical comedy. 2 male. 2 female principals and six chorus girls. Special L. F. in 3. Ralph Lynn, featured comedian, would rank high without support/ Louise Groody, soubrette is a very graceful dancer. Finishes strong after a rather tame opening. (Indianapolis) BERT FITZGIBBONS - - The original Daffydil. 20 minutes in one. Olio As usual the big hit of the bill. One continuous laugh. Has a new song and has some new gags with the leader. His final exit over the footlights and out through the front of the house is very novel and prevents an encore which otherwise would be demanded. (Chicago. DELMORE & LEE - - "A Study in Black and White". Special black velvet in five. 10 minutes. Two men who hold attention by clever serial work on the nickel-plated break-away ladder.
