REPORT ON COLUMBUS SHOW WEEK OCT. 6, 1913--W.W. PROSSER. El Ray Sisters: Two young women, roller-skating and dancing. Made a very good opener, held attention throughout and finished strong. Palace in 4, 10 minutes. (Cleveland) Killion & Moore: Two young men. Songs and talk. Away from the usual act. Made a fairly good impression most of the time. Nothing big, but gave satisfaction throughout, and finished fairly strong. Olio in 1, 15 minutes. (Open) Geo. Felix and Barry Girls: In "The Boy Next Door". The same vehicle Felix has used for so long, but apparently it is as well liked as ever. The two young women dress well, sing and dance cleverly, while Felix keeps them wholly in a good humor and causes roars of laughter by his unique antics. Went well throughout and finished strong. C.D.F. in 3, 18 minutes. (Atlanta) Don, The Talking Dog: He has been extensively advertised, and we have spent considerable money getting him advance showing. His opening matinee seemed to indicate that he had made good. He won applause after his various words, and, in fact, he got along better than most of our acts do on Monday opening. Scattered applause and a good strong finish. Conservatory in 2, 20 minutes. (New York City) Joe & Lew Cooper: Two young men-one singing, the other at the piano. These boys got along first rate, introducing character illustrated songs. They seemed to be well liked and finished quite strong. Olio in 1, 12 min. (New York City) Francis McGinn & Co. Three men in a police playlet, "The Cop". Very good act of its kind, the only fault of which appeared to be a tendency toward unnecessary length. However there is no serious defect and it held attention throughout without any trouble. A good "surprise" finish rounded this number out in great shape and brought several curtains. Library in 3, 20 minutes. (Chicago) Fred Duprez: The unique monologist who has the distinction of being alone in his class. His nonchalance, and his easy-going manner and the results he attained without any apparent effort are greatly to his credit. The impression he made was very favorable, and he, in fact, had the house with him all the time, scoring a strong finish. Olio in 1 21 Minutes. (Akron & Youngstown) The Vivians: Man and woman in an excellent sharp shooting number. This is a cracker-jack act, with good work, plenty of style and excellent showmanship. Made a good closer, holding attention throughout and finishing strong. Special in 5. 17 minutes. (Cleveland) Pathe Weekly: O.K.
