B. F. KEITH'S THEATRE - BOSTON - WEEK OCTOBER 13 - 1913. (R. G. Larsen.) ANITA [BARTLING?] 8 minutes f.s. Palace. A fair juggling act that made an acceptable opener. RAOUL [ROMITO?] and CONTESS MILLEFIORI. 11 minutes in one. O.P. Drapery. Would not care to play them any further down on a bill. CONWAY AND LELAND. 11 minutes f.s. Garden. One=legged acrobats. One of the best novelties we have played in a long time. Scored one of the hits of the show. CARLE STOWE. 13 minutes in one. Olio. Stowe has some good material, and kept the audience laughing all the time he was on the stage. JOHN and WINNIE HENNINGS. 15 minutes. Open in two. O.D.F. Close in one. Street. A good comedy act with some eccentric dancing that went over big. JOE KNOWLES. "The Primitive Man." 20 minutes f.s. Forest. Knowles is a Boston artist who entered the Maine woods August 4th, naked, and without weapons and food. He wrested a living from Nature with his bare hands, and emerged October 4th fully clothed in skins and in good physical condition. The whole town is talking about his exploit, and at both performances wears his costume of skins, and describes his various adventures, including the feat of killing a bare [bear] with his naked hands. Held the breathless attention of the audience and closed well. HUFFORD and CHAIN. 15 minutes in one. Street. Going as well as on previous visits. WILL [H?] CRESSY and BLANCHE DAYNE. 30 minutes f.s. Special set. The best of the Cressy sketches, and had the audience laughing every minute. Closed strong. JOSIE HEATHER. 15 minutes in one. Olio and Horizon drop. A dainty little woman who held this hard spot with credit. KAUFMAN TROUPE. 10 minutes f.s. Garden. An excellent bicycle act with four girls and two men. Closed the show in good shape. CUTS: Carle Stowe - mention of Joe Knowles. Josie Heather - "Mary" recitation and singing to men in audience.
