New York Show: WEEK October 27th: 1902: Stereopticon: Usual collection of views: 5 minutes, in one . KR-3, EDWARDS & RONNEY:- Two men in an ordinary talking set. One man makes up straight and is a very good singer. The other one makes up eccentric and while he is not a very good comedian there are some bits of the act which are original and there are two or three good parodies. Taking it all in all it is a fair act for the early part of the bill. 17 Mins. 1. SR-3. PROF. DODD & TRAINED DOG:- This is another harmless act early in the show. 'tis rather a pretty little dog and makes a specialty of the spelling blocks. 18 minutes; full stage. NH3, MURPHY & ANDREWS:- Man and woman in a talking, singing and dancing act. The comedy doesn't amount to much, but they are both pretty good singers, and they do a little burlesque operatic stunt at the finish of the act which carries them off good. 15 minutes in one. GRR 2, FLOOD BROS.:- One straight and the other eccentric, and they do a very clever act. 10 minutes; full stage. GYH-2, JOHNSTONE BROS: Xylophone duets, and probably about the best in their line. 14 minutes, in one. AR-3, WOOD & WOOD:- In a ring act. This is really a very clever team. they have quite a lot of new tricks, and their work is presented in a neat and finished manner. 10 minutes; full stage. NH-3, JOHN HEALY:- Blackface comedian: John has a lot of new stuff this trip and as he got a pretty good place in the hill I don't know that I ever saw him go any better than he did this afternoon. 14 Mins. in one. HRR-2, FADETTES WOMAN'S ORCHESTRA:- Went very strong this afternoon. Nearly everything in their programme being encored. 30 minutes; full stage. GYH-2, CARROLL JOHNSON:- Blackface vocalist and dancer. As usual, he is probably the finest dressed performer on the vaudeville stage, and is the personification of neatness throughout his entire act. He had two or three new songs this afternoon and some new talk, and made a big hit with his prize fight recitation at the finish. 22 minutes in one. NH-3, ELIZABETH KNIGHT:- Vocalist: Nice appearing young girl, and has a light soprano voice of good quality and the faculty of phrasing in a manner that makes her singing clearly understood. She opened with a song in surplice and changed to straight evening dress and closed with the old southern songs, which went strong. 12 minutes in one. SRR-2, TEN ICHY TROUPE:- Appearing for the first time in this end of the City, and were a novelty for our audience. They went very strong indeed. The feature, as usual, being the thumb tying and the water juggling. 23 minutes; full stage. AR-3, THE BRITTONS:- Colored man and woman in a singing and dancing act, the man being one of the best eccentric dancers I have ever seen. One of hits of the bill. 12 minutes, in one. GHR-2, FRANCO PIPER: Banjoists- He does a rather novel act. He dresses the stage with 25 or 30 banjos. He commences his act with a straight selection and then goes into some rather remarkable juggling with banjos, playing at the same time. The act is a good one and valuable from the standpoint of novelty, but somehow or other he doesn't seem to make such a tremendous hit with the audience, or rather he did not with our audience this afternoon, which I attribute largely to the fact that they don't seem to appreciate the difficulty of the act. 13 mins. full stage. YRR-2, HINES & REMINGTON:- Man [mistype x'd out] and woman in an eccentric comedy act, entitled "Miss Patter of paterson". They went very good in a trying place on the bill. 20 minutes in one. YYH-2, SAM ELTON:- Eccentric comedian and acrobat. He also had a hard struggle on account of being on very late this afternoon, as the show over-ran considerably. He is a clever performer and his act also is a novelty. 15 minutes, full stage. KR-3, BIOGRAPH:- usual selection of views: 12 minutes in one. S.K. HODGDON.
