40 CRITICISM OF 1ST SHOW. KEITH'S, PHILA., 11/3. Stereopticon - 1 show to-day - 9 mins. - sheet - As usual. Murphy & Killmon - 3 shows - 14 mins. - garden in three - Good Irish comedy turn Made excellent opener. Elizabeth Knight - 3 shows - 8 mins. - Fancy in one - Pleasing vocal turn but not entitled to any better place on this bill. Hedrix & Prescott - 3 shows - 12 mins. - C. P., closing in one - Their familiar dancing turn went about the same as heretofore. Burr & Ford - 3 shows - 19 mins. - C. D. - Of average three-a-day value. Eric Studer - 3 shows - 12 mins. -Fancy in one - Worthy of his billing: "best of all banjoisting" would make good in a harder place on the bill. Reed & Shaw - 3 shows - 11 mins. - Gar. in four - Good turn of its kind; went, perhaps, better than before. Murphy & Slater - 3 shows - 14 mins. - St. in one - The first to arouse real enthusiasm; quite a hit. Le Troupe Fantastique - 2 shows - 13 mins. - own set - A "pretty" act, the scenery and "Faust" music making it quite a pretentious act for vaudeville. The dancing end of the turn was as satisfactory as the former dancing act given by two of the girls. Carroll Johnson - 2 shows - 24 mins. - Fancy in one - Scarcely up to the first rate standard, although his poetic finish caught the house. Sam Elson - 2 shows - 12 mins. - Plain Chamber - From a comedy stand-point probably entitled to "very good" classification; much unique "business" and first rate acrobatics. Jennie Yeomans - 2 shows - 12 mins. - C. D. in two - most successful woman monologuist seen here in a long time; no man seen here in a long time has provoked so much enthusiastic laughter Mr. & Mrs. Jimmie Barry - 2 shows- 18 mins. - C. D. Boxes - Not withstanding the great amount of laughter that preceded them, they made good, provoking frequent roars of laughter. Young Toon Tri - 2 shows - 12 mins. - garden in four - something entirely new and wonderful display of skill, employing the feet instead of the hands. First part of act an exhibition of Burmese foot-ball playing; the remainder consists of foot juggling of balls while standing on the stage. While it is not a turn that would create a sensation, it earned quite a lot of enthusiastic applause. Fisher & Carroll - 2 shows - 19 mins. - St. in one - First rate talking comedians; apparently as strong as before. Paulinetti & Piqon - 3 shows - 10 mins. - garden in four - Their usual act; value has not, perhaps, diminished. Biograph - 3 shows - 10 mins. - Sheet - Average show. COMMENT:- Above the average show. JOHN J. KEIRANS.
